We love Destin, come nearly every summer & usually stay at The Empress. We were pleasantly surprised by this condo. Really prettier then the pics. Love the floorplan, so roomy & livable. Loved the keyless entry!
Everything we could possibly need except maybe a boogie board. Even had beach chairs & toys. Only negative was that the built-in icemaker in bar area was broken & some lighting was out in master bath, but overall, would be happy to rent it again!

Amy and all the staff at Compass have accommodated all my needs and have been most helpful, could not be more pleased in the service and hospitality I receive from Compass. Have rented this unit for the past few years and hopefully will be able to for many years to come. As far as the unit, very comfortable, would be nice if they had a DVD/CD player, maybe one newer TV, only thing missng.

We loved the condo, it was tastefully decorated and the furnishings were very comfortable for my family. My only remark would be that on your website it states the condo sleeps 8. There are 3 king size beds and no sofa sleepers and no extra linens for the two extra people.

We had great time while we were staying at the Empress 1001. We had two families in our group, 4 adults and 4 kids and didn't feel crowded at all. The condo was beautifully decorated and was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked and couldn't ask for more. We all felt that the owner put a lot of thought and efforts into putting everything together. We will definitely recommend this condo to everyone and will come back. The condo had breath taking view from everywhere. As an excursion, we rent a pontoon boat and went to the crab island. It was worth the money. A+ for this vacation ^^

Very luxurious Condo, beautifully decorated, Kitchen is very well equipped, Bedrooms have very comfortable Mattresses.
The Wetter was beautiful, lower 80's and Sunshine all week. The Gulf/Water was clean and still warm enough for swimming.
We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely return.

This was a beautiful condo on one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere. We have been coming to Destin for 10 years and this year was no exception. Compass was great and dealt with any issues we had not only promptly but also proactively. We enjoyed our stay and will be back next year for sure. Regardless of the oil disaster in the Gulf, Destin is a great place to make memories and traditions. The beaches are still beautiful and the people are wonderful.

The space and decor of this particular unit was wonderful. I really liked the location and would highly recommend to others. I would definitely return to this particular unit. The only think that I was disappointed in was the cookware. But other than that, it was an incredible week in a wonderful property. Thanks, Traci

The Empress 1001 is a beautifully decorated unit, very comfortable and roomy. The view from the ocean side balcony as well as the back balcony is georgous! The only thing I didn't like was the louvered windows, which hindered the full view from inside the home. (Small complaint!)The location was perfect for us, there are many great places to eat, and shopping malls close by. We definately would stay there again.

The Empress (unit 1001) was one of the largest and well laid out condos I've stayed at. Very private and really gave you a sense of "home". The room is furnished spectacularly! For our small family we had more room than we ever could have needed. Excellent! Having two balconies (one overlooking the ocean and one overlooking the back parking lot and pool) were also wonderful. The pool was always clean, warm and pleasantly vacant. The beach was just a short walk across the street. We had a large supply of towels as well that was very helpful - so as to not have to bring our own.
For the cons - we never had enough silverware. I believe there were only 7 or so spoons. We did alot of eating in so as to utilize our time spent at the beach and condo to its max. So we did dishes sometimes twice a day. When all dishes and cookware is provided it is only common sense to have enough silverware as well.
The second bedroom with a view overlooking the ocean never did cool down sufficiently. Even lowering both thermostats did not ever cool this room down as much as the rest of the unit. Some parts (living areas) would be freezing while it seemed that bedroom remained a constant 75 degrees.
Too many remotes and no instructions on using them. For a young "in the know" couple you can figure it out. For others who aren't so savy (my parents for example) - it is a nightmare not knowing what remote controls what TV and so forth. Also the bedroom overlooking the pool area's TV remote had been destroyed. Someone had dug the channel buttons out of the remote so as the only way to change the channel was to get up and physically change them on the TV. Normally that wouldn't have been a problem but my father (due to an injury) spent alot of time in that bedroom.
Lastly for the amount of time the cleaning crew spent there I wouldn't say that this place was as clean as it should have been. The kitchen counters were dirty as was the floor under the kitchen table.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The condo was the nicest we have ever stayed at. Very good floor plan with lots of space. Great view of beach from 10th floor. A very large balcony with comfortable seating. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone and we will stay there again in future.

The condo was very nice, lots of room to sleep, eat and relax.. We absolutely loved it. However getting on the beach was another story, we had to get up at 6am every morning just so we could get a spot on the beach. I would recommend the condo but warm them about beach space.

The vacation rental was extremely nice from an accomodation standpoint, floor-plan was great, bedroom/bathroom locations were very nice....the exterior deck overlooking the gulf was terrific as well as the rear deck viewing of the bay! This property is definitely all about location, location, location!! The only disappointing aspect of the rental was that the housekeeping was extremely sub-par from the standard we expected. The floors were dirty, towels were left lying around and laying wet in the dryer, no toilet paper, soap, nor paper towels were in the premises until we called the management service. Also, the front of the ice-maker (wet bar) was laying on the floor upon our arrival and it appeared that the actual ice-maker had not worked for some time as rust and grime were apparent inside the door. I will add that once we called the requested supplies were delivered to us in an extremely prompt manner. I do feel it was unfortunate that such a gorgeous condominium, where obviously a tremendous investment in the interior had been completed, was receiving sub-par level of housekeeping service. Overall, an exceptional property rental and one that I would visit again.
