Thank you so much for your feedback. The condo sized ironing board and no card table and chairs are primarily due to a lack of space. However, we are always happy to pass along these suggestions to owners. Carpets are cleaned on an as-needed basis. Any guest can request carpet cleaning during their stay if they feel the carpets are not up to our usual standards. Again, thanks for your feedback and suggestions and we look forward to hosting you again in the future!
“Our vacation was great!!”

This condo was excellent for us. We had 5 adults and 2 children. We stayed here for a full week. Everyone had plenty of room and we didnt feel like we were invading each others privacy. The kids loved how close the pool and beach were to the condo. We all loved the amenities, range of restaurants, shopping centers and grocery store access. You will love this place! It was our first trip to Destin and I would not hesitate to book this condo again in the future!!!
“It was the perfect resort location for our family vacation.”

We chose this resort because of the amenities and access to the beach. The tennis was great, the grounds and pools were beautiful, and the location of the cottage was perfect. It was nicely updated and comfortable. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to Destin.

We have stayed a week at Hidden Dunes for ten straight years; but, sadly, we've decided this will be our last. (We stayed in Unit 200 this year, not 198. We have mostly stayed in 160 in years past.)
Newman Dailey promised us that the ceiling fan on the patio would be fixed the first day, but it never was, despite our calling to remind them. As a result, we suffered through several sweaty evenings over cocktails on the patio.
Two of the three beach-chair rental guys were extremely courteous and professional; kudos to them. The third, whose name was Bill, was disrespectful and condescending, on two different occasions. I regret naming him, but he was rude enough to deserve it.
The saddest thing is the state of the beach itself since the BP oil spill. The water still feels thick and oily, and is virtually devoid of life. The seagulls are long gone, replaced by an occasional pigeon or two. Once in a while a flock of pelicans will fly by, but they don't seem to be looking for much food from the sea anymore. This of course isn't Hidden Dunes' fault, but is quite depressing nonetheless.
The traffic on 198 continues to get worse every year. The new Wal Mart across from the Doughnut Hole doesn't help. We vacation away from atlanta to escape the frenetic congestion; but Destin, Sandestin and Miramar Beach are becoming atlanta South, albeit with a (lifeless) beach. Again, this is not Hidden Dunes' fault; but for us, the thrill is gone.
The price of staying at HD has gradually gone up by over 30% since we started vacationing there 10 years ago, but the quality of the experience is going downhill fast. For what we paid to stay there for a week, next year we'll go on down to the Caribbean instead.
We used to consider Hidden Dunes our second home, but the time has come for us to move on.
Thank you so much for your comments about Hidden Dunes Cottage 200. We apologize that we were unable to take care of your maintenance issue with the outside fan while you were here. Please be assured that there is no oil on any Okaloosa or Walton County beaches. Our waters, including the Gulf, are tested weekly by the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance. If there were any health or environmental issues pertaining to humans or wildlife, the beaches would be closed. Our officials take water safety standards very seriously. For more information on water testing and safety please see www.basinalliance.org Again, thank you for your input and we look forward to the opportunity of hosting you during your next Destin vacation
“Vacation in Paradise”

This was our first family vacation to Hidden Dunes, and I am certain that this will not be our last! We had a wonderful time throughout the entire vacation. The instant we walked into Cottage #198, we felt at home. Everything was on hand for us, from the pots and pans, to extra beach toys for the kids. This place was awesome! The management staff were very courteous and made sure that we were very well settled in. An added convenience was having the beach, pool, playground, and basketball courts within walking distance! My only regret was having to leave this place!
We will definitely make a return trip to Hidden Dunes, this was a vacation in paradise!

The condo was nice; however the wi-fi did not work and I needed to work while I was there. The chain lock on the door was broken and no one tried to repair it during our stay though I called several times. The beds were very comfy which was a surprise! Remotes missing for TVs reported as well. Blankets were awesome - so soft and cozy!!! Kitchen well stocked with pans, etc. Overall the condo was very nice and well priced. Just feel more comfortable with an inside way to bolt the door. Service was good when we checked in; however after that went down hill.
I have apologized to the guest and have made a promise to her that Newman Dailey Resort Properties, Inc. strives for 100% satisfaction and she will be well taken care of on her next stay at Hidden Dunes Resort!

“June 2012 Stay”

My family has been to Hidden Dunes several times and we always enjoy the stay. The entire site including buildings, landscaping, water fountains, walking paths, other guests and quiet, family friendly atmosphere are always relaxing. My only criticism, especially from this stay, is that the large pool area was not very pleasant. Nearly every day this year there was some some combination of large groups of loud people, people eating and drinking next to the pool and people playing loud music. This experience was sufficiently unpleasant for me to look for alternatives to staying at Hidden Dunes for next year's vacation which I don't really want to do. Until this year I was completely satisfied going every year to Hidden Dunes as it has been a familiar and pleasant place that I felt like I could count on to relax for the short vacation time I have available.
I also would like for the gate attendant to be able to give us our door key code when we arrive. We drive down from Indiana and after this length of time in the car we are very anxious to get into the cottage and rest. This is a minor inconvience, secondary to the atmosphere at the pool but I wanted to explain the poor rating on "ease of check-in."
