The rustic yet upscale ambience of Cottage 169 feels like an extension of the naturally lush and peaceful domain of the Hidden Dunes Resort itself. Unique and natural finishes like Sisal- a rare thatched flooring, stained concrete countertops and shabby chic furnishings radiate that welcoming spirit that Destin beaches are famous for. In fact, inspirational plaques and embroidered pillows placed throughout boast sayings like “ All you need is love and the beach”. Each bedroom exudes happy comfort with its fine linens and cozy atmosphere.
Fantastic upgrades include- A giant walk-in shower in the master suite, a custom tile backsplash in the kitchen and a balcony that is so nicely furnished that it looks like a page from a Pier One summer catalog.
Sighs of contentment will be heard all around after a day full of activities on Hidden Dunes spacious grounds. Lounge on the longest stretch of deeded beach access in the area, play basketball or horseshoes, practice your tennis game at the award-winning tennis center, swim in one of several pools or stroll around the wooded acreage. Plus, Silver Sands Premium Outlets are within a mile of Hidden Dunes gates along with quite an array of golf courses and restaurants.

This place was a little piece of heaven. The space was terrific for our family of 5 (3 grown teens and 2 adults). There was space for everyone to get away to for some piece and quiet, and showering. The place was impeccably furnished and designed in beach chic. Everything was perfect, from the adorable dishware to the super cute dustpan! I wish I could get the person to come and design my house! You can enjoy your morning coffee on the beautifully decorated screened in porch. The ocean is a few minute walk through well manicured tropical pathways (or the golf cart guy would come get you). It is a safe gated area and felt comfortable with our 15, 16, and 17 year olds walking together on the beach without us. We all loved going to the shoreline at night to see the crabs and watch the night sky. The only two downfalls was Wi-Fi connection was a bit intermittent and slow. If you have something dependent on that (on-line classes, etc), it may be an issue. The other small problem was there were a few very very tiny bugs in the kitchen area. We kept everything clean and all food was stored in ziplocks or the fridge. Not sure what they were, but when I called Newman Dailey they brought some bug spray to our cottage while we were gone. We sprayed behind the stove and it seemed to help a little. Hoping they solve the issue for the next family staying there. And lastly, not so much a problem but the flooring is made from a woven rope type material. It looks charming, but not very comfy on the feet. You may want to bring slippers to walk around in when you are at home not on a throw rug.
Overall, this was a magical place!!!
