Description

The Lodge is located across the river near the community of Puerto Misahualli in Ecuador. It is situated on the banks of both the Misahualli and Napo rivers where the two rivers converge and is only accessible by canoe. The lodge manages and protects nearly 200 hectareas of primary and secondary forest knitted with natural trails, millennial trees and hosts one of the highest points in the area.

The Lodge is the ideal place for travelers wanting a variety of experiences from; exhilarating adventure, tranquility and peace of nature or engaging and learning about the indigenous cultures.

Bungalows at the Misahualli Amazon Lodge feature wood furniture and floors and include comfortable bedding, hot water and ceilng fans. Our Bungalows and Suites sit amidst native trees, palms and gardens of exotic rainforest flowers found throughout the grounds of the lodge.

Guests at the Lodge can book kayaking or rafting (up to Class3+) in the upper Napo river, hiking and visiting indigenous communities, river tubing, visiting animal rescue center, discovering hidden waterfalls in the forest, hugging a gigantic kapok tree "Papa Pununo" that promises to illuminate the mind of its huggers.

During or after an exciting day, guests can unwind with their preferred beverage by the pool. The central lodge wood decked building offers breathtaking scenic views of the Napo river and the Port of Misahualli. The restaurant offers traditional Ecuadorian and international cuisine together with Chilean and Argentinean wines.

Misahualli Amazon Lodge is just 3.5 hours drive away from the capital Quito. Private transportation can be arranged upon request.

Getting around

Tours are the easiest way to get around since you will undoubtably need a canoe for some of the places to visit and sites to see. A car is handy for those that want to explore on their own and bicycle rentals are a fun option to explore the area as well.

Interaction with guest

Plan to arrive no later than 6PM as you will have a short river crossing to arrive at the lodge. Here on the equator the sun comes up at 6AM and sets at 6PM. After a short check-in we will escort you to your assigned lodge accommodation and provide you with your key.
