Please Note: This location is very unique and secluded - therefor, if you need internet access, or good cellphone service, the Moab Riverhouse is not your best choice. Our guests are typically wanting to escape-it-all for a few days... and that's exactly what you'll do during your stay at the Riverhouse! If you are interested in renting the Riverhouse please be aware that the basement is occupied by a very quiet couple who help manage the ranch. They have a private entrance into the basement, which is separate from the house, and won't interfere with your privacy but guests may see them coming and going on occasion.
Telephone Service: Cell phone service is sketchy at best on the ranch and along the entire Colorado River/Highway 128 corridor. There is a local landline phone in the Riverhouse which you are welcome to use. Long-distance phone calls must be made with a credit card.
Internet Service: If state-of-the-art electronic access and equipment is important to you on your vacation, this cabin is not for you. Once again, internet service can be weak and slow due to the fact that the only internet service available on the ranch is via satellite. The internet is beamed down from the main ranch house. You will have a stronger signal if you drive closer to the main ranch house. If you have a cellular internet device through Verizon Wireless, you may be able to connect with that from the Riverhouse.
TV: Live satellite television is available for your convenience. You are also welcome to bring your own computer and movies for entertainment.
Recreational opportunities near the ranch: Arches and Canyonlands national parks and Dead Horse Point State Park are popular places to visit in the Moab area. Recreational activities near the ranch include horse and mule rides from the ranch, hiking at Fisher Towers and Mary Jane Canyon nearby, and river rafting. If you are staying at the ranch and have booked a river trip on the daily section of the Colorado River, you may be able to coordinate transportation from Highway 128 near the boat ramps without having to drive into Moab. Discuss this option with the outfitter you are rafting with.
Pets: If you bring dogs to the ranch you will be charged an additional pet fee. Dogs must be on a leash at all times or under full-control voice command when you are walking on the ranch. Please clean up after your pets and collect and remove droppings from the property. Pets may not be left unattended in the Riverhouse. You may be billed for any damages. Kennels are available for you use.
Children should be carefully monitored at all times. The river and river banks are not safe places to play, and life jackets should be used at all times if you plan to be near the river. Swimming in the river is not advised. The rock formations on the ranch are fun to climb, but guests should use extreme caution and make sure to monitor children at all times. Guests may visit the horse and mule corrals. Again, use caution. People are responsible for their own safety on the ranch and the ranch will not be held liable for any accidents which might occur.
Fishing: If you wish to fish in the river, you must obtain a license from the State of Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The most common fish is catfish, however, there are some protected fish species in the river.
