Superb Villa Gauggiole surrounded by vineyards with heated pool & pizza oven
Description from the manager
With the stone exterior of a traditional Tuscan farmhouse and rustic-chic interiors, Villa Gauggiole is a dreamy four-bedroom retreat in the Val d’Orcia region. Spread out over a main villa and guest house, the property offers plenty of space and privacy, but thanks to its location on the Castiglion del Bosco estate, there are vineyards, trails and even a golf course just minutes away.
Surrounded by vineyards, rolling hills and a lush green lawn with a pool, the villa has views for miles. Enjoy the scenery from the heated pool and pool house, a lounge on the pool deck, a shady sitting area just off the house, or the covered outdoor dining area. Try your hand at an Italian specialty at the outdoor pizza oven, or just pick a local treat from the pastry basket that’s delivered daily. Inside, the villa is equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi and has video and board games for the kids and a mini-bar for the adults.
Though the villa retains its original stone walls, beamed ceilings and the fireplace in the living room, its interiors have been given a sophisticated makeover. Living rooms in the main house and pool house are outfitted in warm, neutral tones, with cheeky touches like plaid upholstery and a nailhead-trimmed coffee table. Gather everyone in the spacious formal dining room or around the farmhouse-style table in the fully equipped, high-ceilinged kitchen.
Villa Gauggiole has three bedrooms in its main house and one bedroom in its guest house. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and flat-screen TV. In the main house, there are two bedrooms with king beds, one of which has a walk-in closet, and one bedroom with two twin beds. The bedroom in the guest house has a king bed, fireplace and outdoor sitting area.
Active travelers will love exploring the Castiglion del Bosco estate, whether strolling the vineyards, playing a round on the golf course or taking a hunting or fly-fishing excursion with one of the estate’s guides. Off the estate, it’s only 1 mile to a restaurant, 2 miles to Il Borgo and about 7 miles to the town of Montalcino. Further afield, you’ll find the Florence airport 75 miles away, the Pisa airport 99 miles away and the Rome airport 143 miles away.

Castiglion del Bosco is an age-old Tuscan estate. Its vineyards and fields, woods, farmhouse villas and ancient church bear witness to the care and attention of generations of farmers, landowners, artists and architects.
The estate lies within the confines of the Val d'Orcia, an undulating landscape known for its enchanting beauty and seductive juxtaposition of colors and textures. Deep green in spring and golden in fall, this gentle land is also rich in art and culture. Carefully preserved ancient sites, dating back to the Etruscan era, blend in with art from the Medieval and early Renaissance periods. The area is also famous for its agriculture. The vineyards of the Val d'Orcia, including Castiglion del Bosco's own, produce one of the most coveted Italian red wines, Brunello di Montalcino, and its younger sibling, Rosso di Montalcino.
In addition to their deep-rooted appreciation for art, history, food and wine, Tuscans are great sports enthusiasts. Castiglion del Bosco offers ample opportunities to live the Tuscan outdoor life to the full. Though a recent arrival, the 18-hole championship-standard Castiglion del Bosco Golf Club is already being ranked among the finest in Italy by golfing professionals. The extensive wooded hills and valleys on the vast estate provide endless scope for trekking, mountain biking, nature walks and hunting with the resident game warden. Fly fishing, horseback riding and hot-air ballooning are also among the activities offered on site.
From Castiglion del Bosco, all of Tuscany is within easy reach.
Additional amenities include: video game library, pool house, laundry facility, gardener, alfresco dining, outdoor furniture, mini bar....Read more
