Description
Nestled in the breathtaking Tuscan countryside, Poggio Rosemary offers splendid views of the vineyards and olive groves of the Chianti hills. The villa itself was originally a casa colonica or farmhouse, and formed part of a farmstead which has existed on this site since the 12th century. Despite its secluded hilltop location, the villa is only a short distance from some of the most beautiful and celebrated towns in Italy including Florence, Siena, and Pisa as well as San Gimignano, Volterra, Pistoia and Lucca.
The villa has undergone several renovations over the centuries. The most recent, carried out with meticulous care around twenty years ago, lovingly restored the structure and its many distinctive historical elements to their original glory. Vaulted ceilings, hand-made Florentine terra cotta pavers, and chestnut wood beams all bring the history and graciousness of the region to life.
The villa's elegant yet cozy rooms combine old-world charm with the latest technology, providing luxury and comfort in a stunning natural setting. Guests may choose to dine in the beautifully appointed sala di pranzo or dining room, complete with its magnificent original fireplace. Or they may prefer to dine al fresco under the loggia and drink in the gorgeous views of Tuscany. Either way, authentic local wines, cheeses, olive oil (including extra virgin olive oil pressed on site) and other products are available in nearby markets and groceries for guests who want a taste of true Tuscan cuisine. Poggio Rosemary also offers wonderful opportunities for further relaxation with its fitness center and saltwater pool. Mountain bikes are available for guests to explore the glorious Tuscan countryside all around.

“Outstanding!”
My husband and I love traveling in Italy and have stayed in Tuscany several times. Poggio Rosemary is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. Location is perfect--middle of Tuscan countryside, but convenient to Florence and other towns like San Gimignano (which is beautiful!!). The furnishings were very high quality--nicer than what you usually see in rental properties. There was plenty of room for my husband and me, our two daughters and my parents. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking in, but I have to admit we ate out most nights because of the terrific restaurants in the area. Would definitely recommend C'Era Una Volta on the road to San Gimignano. There is also great gelato shop in the nearby town of Montespertoli called Gelateria Fiorentina. I would really love to go back when we can use the pool which is beautiful. The owners were very nice and helpful and made our stay very pleasant.
