One of the best features of this home is its wonderful location. A peaceful environment, adjacent to Bajo Tigre (Part of the Children´s Eternal Rainforest) will allow visitors to experience an intimate contact with nature.
Our house can comfortably sleep 6 adults. Each of the three bedrooms has one double bed (bed linings provided). One has a private bathroom. An open plan living/kitchen area is great for relaxing after hiking the in the cloud forest or zip-lining. Cooking utensils are provided, so you may prepare your own meals, with fresh produce from the Whole food store (Nearby.)
Guest will have the entire house: an open plan kitchen/living area, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Cooking utensils, bed linings, towels, automatic washer and dryer are provided.
We will greed guest at the time of arrival, and show them around the house. I will also be available to help guest setup for local attractions.
National Geographic called the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve "the jewel in the crown of cloud forest reserves".
The town of Monteverde was originally settled by a group of Quakers that came to Costa Rica in the early 50s because the country had recently abolished the army. Quakers object to war, by principle, and are now considered conscientious objectors, but at the time they were being drafted, or being sent to prison for refusing to fight for their country.
They were also responsible for the first conservation efforts, originally to try and preserve the water source. Soon biologist visiting friends and family discovered the unique biodiversity of the plants and animals of the cloud forest, and soon a more formal and widespread conservation movement took off.
The main local non-profit thru which the international effort was channeled is the Monteverde Conservation League, now responsible for purchasing a lot of land to be preserved for perpetuity. One of their visitors center is Ben also known as Bajo Tigre. Our house is basically right on the entrance to Bajo Tigre.
4 Wheel drive is recommended since the roads are not paved. It is also possible to take a bus from Puntarenas or San Jose, or a shuttle service, like Interbus, from most locations in Costa Rica. Taxis are available in town for getting around locally, and most attractions include transportation.
I´ll be glad to help guest with questions regarding all the local attractions, and will also help make arrangements to visit them.TripAdvisor property ID 3026667...Read more

We loved this home! It was much larger than we anticipated :) Our group had 2 couples, and one child.
Let me start by telling you the customer service via e-mail beforehand was wonderful. Allan was able to help arrange some tours for us which were all within walking distance or the pick up point was within walking distance.
On our drive to this home, he was readily available by cell phone to help give directions and meet us. It is really quite easy to get to!
The home is wonderful and in a great location near restaurants, grocery, and light shopping, and as I mentioned pick ups for tours.
We ate out, and we also cooked in. The kitchen had everything we needed. :)
It was quite windy when we were there and it cools down at night so we are glad we had our long pants and hoodies.
I would for sure stay here again, and will recommend it to anyone I know going to that area.
Allan & his wife were very Welcoming and proud of their home. Two Travel Thumbs up!

My wife and I spent a very enjoyable week here in March 2014. The home is new, very clean, very comfortable. We were met by the owner and his wife, they had stocked the refrigerator with fruit, bread etc. so that the next morning we had all we needed before heading out.
While staying at the house we saw Toucans, Agouti and many other birds while looking out the front door. There are trails to hike through the forest less than 30 feet from the door.
With a car you are within 15 minutes from St. Elena, the Cloud Forest Sanctuary and the Cheese Factory (fantastic cheese and heavenly ice cream.)
The only thing better than the house is the service and kindness of the host. They have a background in the hotel industry and know how to make you feel welcome, providing information, setting up tours, recommending restaurants.
