We are located a few minutes from Montsegur.The nearest Town is Lavelanet, which is 10 minutes away.Foix and Mirepoix the historical medieval cities are 30 minutes away.Carcassonne airport and the Medievel city is 1 hour away .Tolouse Airport is 1 hour 30minutes away .Free breakfast with bed and breakfast, with free shampoo and shower gel.Can be booked for long stays.
There are local markets and fetes all year round.The property is situated a two minute walk away from the bolangarie,Patisserie, grocery/Tabac, post office and tourist information office.There is a bar and restaurant in the village, a church, childrens play area, assault course, tennis courts, crystal clear rivers for fishing or swimming. You will be tucked away in the heart of the Pyrenees where the pace of life is unhurried , relaxed and unspoilt by the trappings of Tourism. To the side of the property you are overlooked by a monument of historic interest, the ruins of a old Chateau marked with a large iron cross. Which illuminates the sky when lit in the evening.
The geographical location of the village ensures that with its favorable climate there are many activities to suit everyone all year round. The village has a wonderful restaurant, which serves top class French cuisine at very reasonable prices . There is also a Campsite with a bar and a swimming pool. This region is steeped in history as it was once home to the Cathars, a breakaway sect from the Catholic Church. During the religious wars of the Twelfth Century many great fortresses were built to keep out the attacking Crusaders. The most famous one being Chateau Montsegur. The awe inspiring Chateau perched high above the village was the last point of resistance against the crusaders. Hundreds were burnt to death for refusing to denounce there faith. This famous monument can be seen from the village and is a 5 minutes drive away..

It is an ideal opportunity to enjoy Skiing, snow boarding or sledging ,this ski resort has all the facilities one would expect including many bars, restaurants, ski hire shops and 23 pistes with 11 ski lifts. The resort caters for all levels and is especially suitable for young families, there is a childrens play area and a junior bungee jumping attraction. The Season runs from December to the end of March.
