“Which is More Beautiful...the Villa or the Views?!” If you are looking for a secluded, gorgeous and elegant villa with a stupendous view of the ocean and sunsets, look no further! It is exactly like the pictures, immaculately clean, extremely comfortable, and close to a food store and restaurants while still being very private. The living room has a cushy L-shaped couch and a large TV and the other end of the room has a large table for at least 8 people. The whole room has one side completely in glass overlooking the ocean and it's gorgeous. Each of the 5 bedrooms has the same view of the ocean as the verandah, pool, kitchen and living/dining room, and each has its own bathroom. The 2 main level bedrooms have their own private balconies and one opens up to the kitchen by way of a pass-through window, which of course is very convenient for passing out a glass of wine! I loved the dishes in the kitchen - I would use them at home. We loved how everything was so open to nature and how the plants and flowers not only surrounded the villa, but were also brought into the open walk-ways creating an inside garden. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and flowers, has rafts and is lovely. The carport out front was just as beautiful as the house and so nice to drive into when it was raining as it was connected to the house. Speaking of rainstorms, it was just beautiful watching storms approach from the horizon ) - again that view! - (we happened to be there when a tropical storm front was nearby) and because of the positioning of the house, we could sit on the open verandah during even the worst storms without getting wet. There was nothing we disliked about this villa and we give our highest recommendation!

“Carribean Chill!!” Having stayed at Min-Y-Don several times now (and on my way back this month) I can sincerley and without hesitation recommend the villa to anyone or indedd any family looking for a truly relaxing Carribean experience. The villa is in a wonderful location perched on a cliff overlooking and overhearing the azure Carribean sea below. The house is well appointed and very comfortable offering privacy as well as a great sun-downer terrace for all to gather in the late afternoon/early evening. Wishing all who visit a wonderfull relaxing stay.

Why Montserrat?

Montserrat is recovering from the 1995 volcanic explosion which changed the island’s geography forever. Some areas remain off limits, but outside these parts Montserrat is lush and mountainous, with excellent scuba diving. This tiny island in the Lesser Antilles still offers a warm welcome and a very personalized break.

St Patrick's Week 2012

My wife and I and four other couples stayed at Montserrat Breezes for our Spring Break and to celebrate St Patrick's on the "other emerald isle". The house served as a perfect base to explore Montserrat and attend the festivities each evening. Above the house is a trail, leading in one direction to some old plantation ruins and in the other direction, to the Runaway Ghaut. Sitting on a high hill affords tremendous views and cooling breezes. Even though we were 10 adults, everyone had their privacy in this large and well appointed home. We have rented numerous houses all over the Caribbean, but Montserrat Breezes is the best we have experienced. The price is very good, especially for the size of the house, the service provided by the caretaker, Pickett Johnson, and the midweek maid service. Michael Cavanaugh, the owner, was also very helpful in our planning for this trip. Most notable on Montserrat is the friendliness of the locals. Everywhere we went we were welcomed and treated like friends. Driving on Montserrat can be a challenge with numerous wrong turns, but every time I did so, a local would approach us offering help. I have never experienced more friendly and accommodating people as the people of Montserrat. We drank from the Runaway Ghaut ensuring that we will have to return to Montserrat someday, but it is the beauty of the island and hospitality shown by the locals that will bring us back. Rent this house, it is perfect.see more

Our Heavenly Honeymoon

This supremely comfortable and relaxing house on unspoilt Montserrat was the ideal honeymoon location. After marrying in the depths of a Great British Winter, arriving on this warm, fragrant island in a tiny plane, just as the sun was setting, was absolutely magical. As for the view from the veranda, it took our breath away. Don't expect to find a throbbing metropolis, a lively club scene, shopping malls or water parks. Montserrat could be twinned with Father Ted's Craggy Island. There are no ugly, slab-sided hotels, no jumbo jets disgorging hundreds of tourists, no monstrous cruise ships dwarfing Woodlands Beach. Staying at Min-y-Don couldn't be further from the all-inclusive resort style of Caribbean holiday. The house is a second home - well equipped and much loved. It's tempting to stay there all day, lounging by the pool, gazing out towards Redonda and Nevis, listening to the crash of the waves below, watching iguanas sunning themselves on the lawn, pelicans and frigate birds soaring past, hummingbirds dipping delicately into the hibiscus. If you can tear yourself away, there are some charming places to eat locally, and we also enjoyed the adventure of foraging for ingredients in the local shops and cooking meals to eat on the veranda. The internet was used to check the hideous weather at home - airports closed due to snow etc - and gloat, but otherwise we were so chilled we weren't tempted to use it. Mount Soufriere, Montserrat's volcano, was very lively indeed during our stay - it has been peaceful since a partial dome collapse the month after our visit - which added to the sense of adventure. It was an extraordinary privilege to witness phenomena that most people rarely if ever see. We will never forget our honeymoon on Montserrat. I have an enduring memory of sipping gin and tonic on the deck and seeing the elusive 'green flash' as the sun sank below the horizon, knowing that nothing could be more perfect.see more

A Caribbean Island Retreat ~ So Tranquil + Beautiful!

We LOVED Montserrat, the privacy of this villa and its location! Vista De Redonda was a wonderful retreat. The bedrooms are private and spacious at opposite ends of the villa with great views, the bathrooms are clean, showers work and the enormous kitchen is well equipped. The main living area is enormous opening up to the huge covered patio deck at the back of the villa with plenty of seating. The pool is clean and the deck overlooks the sea. The views are stunning! Listening to the waves, the wind blowing through the palms, the gentle sea breezes and the insects singing throughout the night is so relaxing. The clear night sky and falling stars, the ocean, and twinkling lights on the neighbouring island is such a beautiful sight. The villa has a breathtaking views of the Belham Valley below and Caribbean Sea. Quite often you can see sailboats anchored off shore in Isles Bay. The vista is spectacular as the sunlight changes the colours of the sea and sky when looking out to the horizon. We loved sitting on the various decks morning, afternoon and evening witnessing rain and wind patches approaching or blowing by the island, incredible rainbows appearing and outlines of the islands of Redonda, Nevis and St-Kitts off in the distance. When heading out for a hike, taking in the different views of the Belham Valley, colourful villas, vegetation and nearby mountains with each turn in the road makes you realize you are in an island paradise. There are two great walks right out the front door, by either heading down the hill or further up. One of best beaches of the island is within a short run or walk down Girabaldi Hill to Isles Bay Beach, about 1.5 miles. There is a new beach bar there as well, that serves up great burgers, fries and drinks, as well as other food choices. You can sit on the wrap around patio overlooking the beach and listen to the waves lapping in as you dine. The hike back up the hill makes you appreciate the pool waiting for your arrival. A fifteen to twenty minute hike twisting and turning further up the hill will take you to the telecommunications tower at the top of Girabaldi Hill. The road narrows to two cement paths and becomes fairly steep, but the view there is incredible. You can see the immense destruction and devastation the Soufriere Hills Volcano caused in 1995 when it buried the entire town of Plymouth and surrounding villages. Quite a contrast to the serene beach coastline leading to it. Montserrat is a small island with the friendliest people. Renting a car is reasonable and much needed if you plan to tour the island. We rented from Gages great service. Montserrat is extremely mountainous, the roads wind back and forth and up and down, everywhere you go. The closest grocery store would be approximately 5 km. from this villa. We visited the Montserrat Volcano Observatory that has an amazing view of the volcano with surrounding areas near the vent still steaming and saw the informative video in the theatre there. Visiting Jack Boy Hill on the other side of the island is worthwhile as well. You can see where the pyroclastic flow of ash and rock from the volcano buried Bramble airport in 1997. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the magical island of Montserrat!see more
