Additional Location Information

Mouresi is one of the oldest villages of Pelion and is located 45km far from Volos through Portaria or 43km through Milies and at an altitude of 360m.
The village is built in the south of the river bed of Kissos, having a view of Kissos, Agios Dimitrios, Agios Ioannis and the deep blue of the Aegean Sea, while its beach id the port of Damouchari. It remains unknown when and by whom has the village Mouresi been built. However, it must have existed a settlement in ancient times, since the ancient grave that was discovered in 1934 near to the church of Agia Paraskevi supports this probability.

The church of Agia Paraskevi was built in 1792, but the oldest church is that of Agia Triada, located at the square of Mouresi (Square of Konstantis Retsos), which is shaded by three high lime trees. In the church of Agia Triada, you will have to chance to admire its "slotted iconostasis".

In the old days, Mouresi was built on the coast of Damouchari and since 1600 and onwards approximately the residents begun to move at the area of the current village. From here you can walk in paths that lead to Tsagarada and Damouchari through the marvelous dense forest. Mouresi constitutes an ideal shelter for both winter and summer escapes due to its geographical place.

In Mouresi the visitor will find a mini market, bakery and local restaurants and taverns, local wine and beautiful flowers from nurseries in the area. As for the petrol in the main street running BP gas station

The beaches are within 20 minutes walk and 10 minutes by car:
Damouhari (where parts of the movie Mama Mia was filmed) with the perfectly round white pebbles , only a short walk brings you to the beach of ...
Papa Nero (7 blue flags ) where nature ends up in an endless golden sands and beyond the beach ... St. John (13 blue flags ) with many taverns and a must of the local dishes .
Milopotamos (7 blue flags ) with the wonderful waters where the golden sand beach is divided into two cliffs .
Also within walking distance are the beaches Fakistras , Lambinou , dancers and Saranda with impressive beach bar .
