Description
Surrounded by vineyards and fields of sunflowers, Le Trabet is located only fifteen minutes away from Carcassonne with its many activities and cultural sites.
Massive stone walls dating from the 18th century combined with modern luxury and a large pool set in a magnificent park - this is a holiday paradise.
L’OLIVIER is a luxurious country house, recently restored and wonderfully spacious with over 200 sq. metres; 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on two floors. L'Olivier features both a fireplace and a wood-burning stove. Central heating (only needed for the winter months). The large infinity pool (7x15 meters) is shared with two other smaller gîtes ;there are 3 separate lounging areas for a maximum occupancy of 15 guests. We count 8 guests for L'Olivier plus a maximum total of 7 for the two smaller houses. We provide a disinfected and clean living environment and the property is large (8.5 acres) , there is plenty of safe space and privacy.
Ground Floor :
Living/dining room (50 sq. metres) features a cavernous fireplace as well as a wood-burning stove. Satellite TV and DVD player. The walls were restored in the original way (‘pierres apparantes’). Comfortable seating, outdoor furniture and a Weber barbecue.
Glass-enclosed veranda provides a view of the woods and can be used as a playroom for children, a quiet retreat or a home office.
Independent large country kitchen (16m2) fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, hob, oven and a fridge/freezer, Nespresso and Senseo machines. Selection of fresh kitchen herbs growing by the kitchen door.
Ground floor bedroom with queen-size bed (160×200) and antique wardrobe - and a lovely view of the woods.
Modern bathroom with heated floor, toilet and Italian shower, fully handicapped-accessible.
Traditional floor tiles as well as palomino squares, small washbasin made from local marble.
Separate toilet in the hall.
First floor:
Spacious landing with stone walls (‘pierres apparantes’) and a view of the woods. Traditional wood floor throughout.
Master bedroom (20 sq. metres) featuring an imposing Virginian four-poster bed (190x220), antique table, chairs and wardrobe. En suite bathroom with antique marble sink, spacious shower, toilet and washer & dryer.
Family bedroom (18 sq. metres) with queen-size bed (160×200) and Art Deco wardrobe, desk and chairs, cot or crib for small children as needed.
Fourth bedroom (16 sq. metres) with two single beds (90x190), chairs and dresser.
Luxuriously spacious modern bathroom with shower, bathtub, double washbasin and toilet – and a glorious view of the woods and the meadow.

“Friendly welcoming owners, well-equipped property”
We felt very welcome at Le Trabet and the owners and property maintenance staff were consistently friendly, polite and helpful. The accommodation is as described and well equipped - everything worked and when small issues arose during our stay they were dealt with promptly. It is perfect place for a relaxing family stay. The peaceful pool is a highlight with comfortable sun loungers and plenty of sunshades. Inside the property, the thick stone walls keep things pleasantly cool (not having air con was a worry before we arrived but it really wasn't an issue except on one particularly hot sticky night) and the furniture is comfortable and practical. Thank you very much!

“Perfect french estate with lovely owners”
The property and the owners were delightful! The owners were very helpful and supportive when planning our week in France. They recommended great antique stores, restaurants and winerys. Especially the dinner which was organized on the estate was exceptional! Lovely, clean and spacious rooms which are all individually and very lovingly decorated. Waking up in the morning with a great view of the estate, made for a perfect start to every day. There is a nice pool area and yard to relax in after some sightseeing in Carcassone, winetasting or antique shopping in the area. After our week there, we were sad to leave and we will definately be back!

“Relaxing getaway in charming French town”
Loved our gite at Le Trabet. The hosts were lovely and inviting, the property was charming (a small fruit orchard, a big yard, and a beautiful swimming pool) and the nearby towns were great to explore. Carcassonne is a great place to check out with quite a few options for food and sightseeing (I traveled with my husband and two year old daughter). Nearby Le Trabet is L'Ambrosia, a Michelin-rated restaurant with great prices—definitely worth a visit!

“Great place, great people, great food!”
Le Trabet is beautiful, everything is very well maintained and clean. The pool is a great size and the gardens are beautiful. Also the Lohner family that owns it are great. We had delicious breakfast with them and dinners! We had the best of time! I recommend it to everyone I know!
