Bahia beach is located at Puerto de Mazarron, where you can choose between flat waters, perfect for a relaxing swim on one side, or enjoy surfing in wavy conditions on the contrasting side. Some make for Canada Beach, remote and quiet but remember to take your own picnic!. Most offer watersports, restaurants and bars.

The bustling town of Puerto de Mazarron boasts a variety of shops, restaurants, banks, and large bustling Sunday market, perfect for a bargain. Within the town there are numerous Roman ruins, a joy for any culture vulture, and captivating streets with many pavement cafes for alfresco meals, coffee or beer. Bolnuevo, is a must see, either to bask on the perfect sands, enjoy tapas at the excellent beachside tavernas, or just to stare at the unusual rock formations.

Just a ten minute drive from Puerto de Mazarron will take you to 'The Guns'. It is rumoured that the site was used for the film, 'The Guns of Navarone'. Certainly you will be spellbound with the view, the remains of the barracks, annunition stores and much more. Take a torch for a more intimate exploration and a picnic as you will find it hard to leave! If you prefer to stay within the confines of Puerto de Mazarron itself, walk up to the 'Mary statue', overlooking the harbour. Marvellous views and you can treat yourself to some well earned refreshment at the inviting bar on your way down from where you can relax and enjoy the elevated terraced gardens and harbour view in comfort.

The town of Mazarron, a fifteen minute drive, is a busy, totally authentic Spanish town. There is an indoor market, look for the colourful mosaic facade, and numerous little streets and parks. The Saturday outdoor market is well worth a visit if you want to stock up on locally grown fruit and vegetables.

Puerto de Mazarron is well sited for travelling to numerous historic places and you will be entralled with just the journeys themselves which take you through beautiful, often remote countryside. Enjoy a visit to Totana's authentic street market and lunch at the famous monastery.
