Seclusion in the heart of Muskoka can be hard to come by these days. Luckily Lake Muskoka Vacation Cottage is the perfect place for an escape to forget about the busy city and all of the stress it brings. This spacious vacation home is tucked away on the shores of Lake Muskoka, the perfect place to bring the family – the teenagers can even stay connected with the WiFi!
This cottage can sleep fourteen people. The master bedroom provides the utmost privacy. A few steps above the main level, this suite has a king sized bed, a wood-burning fireplace, a private balcony and a five piece ensuite bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. The large vaulted ceilings are equipped with a ceiling fan to help foster a breeze on the warm evenings.
The other bedrooms are located on the lower walk-out level of the cottage. Two bedrooms have bunk beds with a double bed on the top and bottom. The third bedroom has a pull-out couch. These bedrooms all have sliding doors leading out to a lower deck. A small television and VCR is located in one of these lower bedrooms, providing the kids with their own entertainment. The second bathroom is located on this level as well. The fourth bedroom is a smaller room with a double bed and there is a queen-sized pullout couch in the living room for additional sleeping space.
The kitchen and dining room are open concept. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and a water cooler to provide you with clean drinking water. There is a small breakfast nook in the kitchen with seating for two. The dining room, directly off the kitchen, seats six to eight, allowing the entire family to gather for meals.
Beautiful wooden beams are the focal point of the living area. The spacious family room is equipped with a large sectional couch perfect for snuggling up and reading a book. There is also a television with a DVD player for any rainy afternoons. On the opposite side of the room two chairs face a large two-piece wood burning fireplace. Up a few steps looking over the living area is a games table perfect for the boys to play poker or the family to play a late night board game.
The entire cottage is surrounded by a wrap around deck. There are plenty of places to enjoy the tranquil outdoors, either in the sun or the shade. A picnic table, table and chairs, and chaise-lounges allow for plenty of seating options, and provide the opportunity to watch the sunset while enjoying a family dinner outdoors.
Leading down to the water are 57 gentle steps and although this may sound like an overwhelming amount they are not steep and make the walk simple. The waterfront is not as private as up at the cottage; neighbouring docks are visible however they are not excessively close. A private boathouse with wrap-around dock can moor a boat of up to 24 feet. Jump into the lake from the end of the dock which has a depth of about 10 feet. The upstairs of the boathouse has the amenities allowing for a full day stay at the water: a 2-piece bathroom as well as mini-fridge and microwave add ease to your waterfront time.

The cottage was very roomy. We five adults found that we had plenty of room to wander and not feel cramped. We loved the kitchen. It was well set up. And the views from the lake side of the cottage were beautiful. The boathouse and dock were well suited to us. We spent a great deal of time by the water.
