We stayed here in July of 2013. We had two grandparents (I was one), grown kids, and grandkids. This house was perfect for the group we brought. It's nice, but not so nice that your afraid to actually live in it (this is a compliment, not a complaint). Thhe separate living areas allowed the kids and adults to separate and mix as desired with no conflict at all. The bedrooms are tiny, but all we did there was sleep, so again, perfect.
Beach access was great (it's semi-private - you share it with one other house). The only real gripe I had was the beach itself, which had a steep dropoff, which made the water a little tricky for the kids. We managed though, and it's nothing that a good nor'easter can't fix. If we go again next year, this will be the first place we look at.
Again, if you're headed to the beach with young children, this place is really hard to beat. And kudos to the folks at Beach Realty Kitty Hawk Rentals. Most trouble-free trip to the Banks ever.! Thanks!!

The only complaint we had was that the house could have been cleaner when we arrived. We have an eleven month old, and she was crawling around finding stuff under the furniture. The setup was good and the location and proximity to the beach were excellent. It does share a walkway to the beach with next door. We also never found our little section of the beach to be crowded - a major plus.
“Everything we needed it to be. (But nothing more, though the pot”

This house has so much potential to be the perfect spot for my family. There is ample space, since the addition allows for some quiet reading or eating space, when others are in the family room area. Nice flat screens with Dvds in about every room. Outdoor area has lots of fun things to do. My boys loved having the bball hoop and corn hole game to play with. The gazebo was a nice place to relax at the top of the dunes. The distance to the beach was fantastic!
Issues included leaking roof during storm which took use of the sunroom out for about 24 hrs. Help/Repair was provided as soon as the storm subsided. Small ants were found in kitchen, bedroom and sunroom throughout the week...not unusual in kitchens this time of year, but a bit creepy in other areas. Refrigerator dripped water daily on the inside. Outdoor shower was flooding - not resolved during our stay. Other bathrooms were nice. Seemed like it could have been cleaner, throughout the house, and the Q bedrooms were small, but exactly what I'd have expected from a Nags Head home with that much tradition. Very close to brand new Food Lion shopping center, and walking distance to gift shops. Easy to get to the top of the dunes via steps and landings, but not so easy on the other side of the dunes for some senior citizens.

I've always wanted to stay in an old Nags Head style home. This house was exactly that--built in 1917. It was right on the beach. It isn't fancy, but it has all that you need. In fact, half-way through our vacation, my husband said he wanted to reserve this house for next year. Another bonus that we quickly found was the Beach Grill right in front of the house. Awesome hamburgers! The two sisters who run it were extremely nice. We had a problem with the upstairs tub the first day we were there & they sent someone out right away to take care of it.

The house was very clean and is in a perfect location. The two small negatives were the bathroom on the second floor - the sliding door was leaking where it attaches to the tub. It looked as if the sealant was gone. I personally think with kids it is easier to have shower liner instead of doors. The refrigerator door rack was broke. Overall the house was very clean and comfortable. Would definetely recommend this house to my friends.

We had a marvelous week with perfect weather and we spent time just relaxing. This home is centrally located. Unfortunately, it does need some updating but most of all some TLC. It was not perfectly clean and both trash containers were filled. We took them to the curb for the pre-vious renters and then for ourselves.
