Umbria, a true and real island of countryside, jealously hides among its green hills antique dwellings. Here along the Roman Flaminia road, in the borough of Narni, the Podere Costa Romana comes into view as by surprise, in the middle of an unspoilt Mediterranean hideaway, offering with its remarkable remoteness a comforting silence. To pause in one of the many corners of the garden, to go for a walk, to go by bicycle or on horseback in the green surroundings, allows you the pleasure to stop and look around, enchanted by the remarkable beauty of the area.
The Parthenopean mind of Anna Maria has transformed the old nineteenth-century Costa Romana dwelling, into a warm and welcoming place where she herself receives you in her sitting room in order to talk, give information, help and even taste a glass of good wine together. The building in local stone, brought back and restored to its original character, apart from a spacious reception room and large and well equipped kitchen, suitable for feasts, has in it six flats each with the same comforts, but each different, in which the good taste and imagination of the owner have successfully brought together tradition with the use of materials such as terracotta and wood.
Antique fittings, curtains from the old San Leucio looms, objects of local handicraft, all chosen and put together with care, love and attention, together with breakfast on offer in the flat with home-made cakes and marmalades, will welcome any guest, who is still here really considered "sacred".
The house is surrounded by a large park. The swimming pool, situated on a natural terrace, there is a compelling vision of the hills and valleys that stretch to the horizon. The villa has several openings which leads to the garden. In front of every opening there is a patio furnished with taste that invites you to relax outdoors.
The large house dating from the nineteenth century and restored in 2001, about 550 square meters. It is divided in two floors, the ground floor comprises a large living room-lounge (elegantly furnished with original wood floors and beams, the old central fireplace, antique furniture - all create an evocative atmosphere), very large fitted kitchen, study and bathroom with dressing room. The upper floor is accessed by both the garden from the lower floor via a wooden staircase leading to a lobby where you overlook the suite.
The particularity of Podere Costa Romana is the following: the interior of the villa has not simple rooms, but independent mini-apartments (suite). Each suite has its own small living room with kitchenette, table with chairs, armchairs and a sofa or sofa bed, bathroom with shower and a bed on a mezzanine. If you are a group of friend families to rent the house, each family can have its independence.
The suites each have a different identity, revealing the attention to detail and the aesthetic taste of the owner who has carefully selected furniture and fittings: carefully chosen fabrics, matching colors and selected pieces of local handicrafts and antiques.
Each suite can be rented individually.TripAdvisor property ID 4290594...Read more
