This beautiful, classically-designed three bedroom Newport vacation home boasts both bay and ocean views. From this south Newport location, you'll be only a half of a mile from popular attractions like the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Rogue Ales' headquarters. Explore the ocean exhibits at the museum, then tour one of Oregon's most famous artisan distilleries and breweries. The bustling bayfront and artsy Nye Beach areas are just a short ride across the historic Yaquina Bay Bridge.
The bright and airy main floor of the home is an oasis of pleasing interior design elements with gleaming hardwood floors, light wood beamed ceilings, recessed lighting, and cozy furniture. There's comfortable seating arranged around the flat screen TV for watching cable or your favorite DVDs from home. A gas fireplace can be turned on for warmth while you sip hot cocoa and talk about the day's adventures or watch a dramatic winter storm out the large windows.
The dining table is in this same open space, so meals can be surrounded by the warmth of the fire, and the same colorful artwork and views that the living area provides. Pick up some fresh clams or salmon from Local Ocean Seafood for chowder, or roast a chicken for a warming winter meal... and after dinner, finish the wine at the table as you watch the dusk arrive.
The open kitchen looks like a design right out of a glossy coastal living magazine. There are stainless steel appliances (including a gas range and a dishwasher) and a lot of counter space for culinary projects. There's even a butcher block island with its own sink and barstools for kitchen helpers to have a seat while chopping vegetables or grating cheese.
The deck includes an enclosure that will keep you warm on cold, windy days. From out here sip your morning coffee while you watch the bay, or maybe enjoy an after dinner glass of port.
On the lower level there's a comfortable bedroom with two Extra Long twin beds and snuggly bedding. There are reading lights, a TV, and a bathroom with a tiled, walk-in shower right off the room.
Upstairs, you'll find two more bedrooms. The first is spacious and airy, including corner windows with plantation shutters and an amazing bridge view. A Pendleton blanket will keep you warm at night on this king size bed. There's a desk for catching up on work or sketching views of the bridge in your travel journal. You can even set the table to setup your laptop and use the WiFi to catch up on email. An attached bathroom includes a spacious and tiled walk-in shower.
The third bedroom, with a queen size bed, is also full of charming details - 60s style-reading lamps, cloud-like bedding, water views, and tall ceilings. There's also a TV and an attached bathroom with a shower and tub. This home will comfortably sleep up to six guests, as well as one well behaved, flea treated dog with a $10 per day fee ($40 minimum per stay). Additional amenities include a stereo and a washer and dryer for keeping everyone in clean clothes.
For families wanting to visit the aquarium, there just isn't a better location! In minutes you'll be wandering the exhibit halls and outdoor enclosures. Afterwards, a scenic ride south on Highway 101 will take you to Seal Rock State Wayside for tide pool exploring and more ocean photo ops. Closer to home, South Beach State Park has hiking trails, viewpoints, and a long sandy beach to explore.
The bustling bayfront is just across the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Browse galleries and shops, and keep an eye out for restaurants to try while in town. Local favorite Local Ocean typically has a wait, but once you sit down to a plate of fish tacos, fresh crab, and halibut with chard and udon noodles, you'll understand why. A little further northwest, the Nye Beach area has an arts center, galleries, and a few more restaurants including the popular and unique Cafe Mundo and April's at Nye Beach for sustainable northwest cuisine. The long stretch of beach in this part of town is ideal for an early morning jog, an afternoon hunting for shells, or just building a sand castle.
This beautiful and luxurious Newport vacation rental will charm you with it's style and comfortable amenities. You'll spend the day out exploring the Oregon Coast, then come back to your cozy bayview retreat to watch the water and relax in front of the fire.
