Granville, the birthplace of Christian Dior, with its museums, casino, restaurants, port and boutique shopping,
Villeudieu, famous for its copper works and lace making

to the east are beautiful sand beaches that stretch for miles, where you can join the locals digging for fresh shellfish in the sands, or eat the delicious, locally produced mussels and oysters

There is an excellent market on Saturday mornings in Saint-Lo, the capital of La Manche, which is just 15 minutes away. Saint-Lo also has its famous National Stud, with its exhibitions in August, and guided visits all year round. Locally there are markets most days of the week.
