After a lot of searching out the possible rentals on NCI, the Sea Glass was the top pick for our family.
I'll review the house first :
Nice and big!It wasn't too posh, so there were no worries about expensive stuff getting broken by the kids.We loved the relaxed beach decor. It fit our family well with six kids and a mom and dad that appreciated the separate master suite up on the kitchen /great room area.I (the mom) loved the jacuzzi tub in the master suite. The kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that would have been nice is a pancake griddle and more dishwasher soap.Having our meals out on the screened porch was awesome. We had come from -22 degree weather :)
The elevator was a must have because we have 2 handicapped kids.
The house has 3 sets of 20 step stairs: Great exercise!
The pool was wonderful and clean. The house has plenty of beach/pool toys. They supply 10 beach towels.
The grill was out of propane, but we just made do.
Tips for the house: bring foil/saran wrap, Ziploc bags ( great for shells)Tide laundry pods,pr-measured bkg pwdr, seasoning, salt, sugar, and whatever you don't want to buy a whole of something. Also your own Dvds and music.
We pre ordered from Sandy's groceries, so glad I did ..we had enough kids to unpack. It was worth the extra 30%. Buy more food and pack less clothes. Our family brought three large suit cases and one small with plenty of room to bring home our fun memory trinkets.
My husband and I said a week here was plenty otherwise we probably would have gotten bored. We'll be back whether it's just he and I or with the kids
The Island... shhh lets keep it a secret. So quiet and peaceful. We swam in the ocean, went kayaking, shelling, hiking, and Dad even buried a pirates treasure for the kids. Way too much fun !!
The staff were very prompt and friendly.
Thank you Devowe Family for taking the time to review!
We are so glad you had a great time on the island and in the house. It sounds like you were able to enjoy many aspects of the island including the beach, ocean, kayaking, shelling and the buried treasure hunt sounds great!!
We love that you said to keep the island a secret - it truly is a quiet and peaceful oasis.
We hope to see you again soon!

We enjoyed our stay on the island. Our home was comfortable and the children enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Views were beautiful and staff was very friendly. Very limited access to groceries so its a must to bring what's needed. And you defiantly need plenty I water because well water has awkward taste even with a filter

Love this rental but don't want to say too much about it, lest everyone want to rent it and we have a hard time reserving it again! Kids love the pool, we love the view from the screened in porch. This island is heavenly, no t-shirt shops, no crazy tourists- peace, quiet, dolphins and shells- amazing! Pool heat not working but they came quickly to fix it.

The island is excellent. It was exactly what we were looking for. The house is exactly what you see in the pictures. I might be tempted to say that it might be a little better than expected. Very clean! Very prompt service! The only thing I will complain about is that the house has an occupancy of 12 people. It would be logical for a week long rental to take a week long supply of food for 12 people, yet there was no help provided to take all that food up two flights of stairs. When we asked the delivery personel for help they said no. The house has an elevator (that we understand why it is locked and not available for guests) that could be used by the delivery personnel to take the food to the third floor and then lock it again. Only one person in our party had the ability to carry things up the stairs (the other where too old or taking care of the children) and he was in pain after it all.
Other than that the house was great. The pool was dirty the first day but as soon as we pointed it out they came and it was clear for the rest of the trip. The beach close to the house is not that great, but it's usable. Yet the great beach is a golf cart ride away. The kayaks are excellent. The pools at the club are excellent as well.

This house was sooo well equiped with pool toys, towels, ping pong table, cookware! You name it, they had it! The house is very close to the beach and has a great pool set up! Best house we have rented in N Captiva in the 5 years we have been going!
