Havana Breeze has fantastic unobstructed water views only 150 feet from the Gulf of Mexico. The upstairs screened lanai, with two rocking chairs and outside dining for 6, offers an incredible location to enjoy our great sunsets and views of the Gulf of Mexico. Our location, just steps from the beach, is truly a great get-away location that lets you retreat from the cares of the real world on the mainland.
Once you enter Havana Breeze, newly repainted and artfully decorated throughout with a distinctive alluring feel and spirit of Cuba will make you believe that you are on the famed island itself. We have a reverse floor plan with the three bedrooms located on the entry level. The master bedroom has a king bed with its own private bath and direct access to the lower level screened porch, a place to enjoy morning coffee or just quiet time. The second bedroom has a large, comfortable queen bed, also with direct access to the lower level screened porch. Our third bedroom has two twin beds, each with a pull-out trundle bed below. Each bedroom has a TV with a satellite receiver and/or DVD player. Color coordinated bedding and tropically painted rooms add to our seaside feeling.
Our second level has a great, open, light-filled great room with a cathedral ceiling and two triple sliding doors that access our beautiful screened lanai. The kitchen is equipped to satisfy the tastes of the most discriminating cook. A breakfast bar is adjacent to the kitchen, with seating for 4, convenient for those informal breakfasts and lunches, especially with the kids. The dining area has seating for 6, providing an inviting atmosphere for casual family dining. The living room provides a comfortable entertainment area with a 32” TV with a DirecTV satellite receiver and a Samsung DVD/CD player for video and music entertainment. We have a nice selection of books and board games, suitable for both adults and children, available for everyone’s enjoyment. The adjacent screened lanai and open balcony are a perfect place to watch the sunset, read a book, or to enjoy quiet games of cards at the 7 seat outdoor dining table. Pro's..tanya and Bill were so patient and helpful. We did not realize it was an island, literally, until I booked it and my daughter asked me why we had to leave our cars...I think this was the best mistake ever made by us! The house was bigger and more updated than pics show. I was pleasantly surprised by the natural sunlight in the home. Everything worked and no surprises except the view from the home. The trees and foliage have grown so the view of the beach from the second floor is not quite as good as the pics, but that is nature. We still saw some of the ocean and never missed a sunset. The beds were ohh so comfy too! We even had a turtle reside with us, ( under the house of course) and we named him Calypso! He is very cool and not a bother at all. He hangs out and does his thing but will stop to say hi!! Internet, satellite, technology was fine, no problems at all. We saw the meteor showers from the beach on 8-11-13 and also from the front porch area. Caught quite a few trout right off the beach! Cons: the only problem was getting another golf cart. Long story short, I had one reserved (the last one they had at boats and fun) to use on our last day. I got it and almost got stranded as the axle broke after a half an hour. Thank goodness I was near the main area. They did refund my money and I lucked out and rented a private one for the last day. The residents are very ice but...the problem is vacationers allow children to drive the carts and then they hightail over bumps and bust them up. I am really surprised guests do not respect rules or property of the Island and saw kids 8 to 14 driving around. We also saw guests piling in 6 or more on the golf carts which breaks them down also.. Besides that (which was an issue since there were 6 of us and the golf carts allow 4, or the rules say 4) it is a must do vacation.try to communicate with owners and get some island knowledge. Havanas Breeze...everything they said it was ...we will be back! We promised Calypso!!!
Thank you for taking the time to review. We really appreciate you mentioning the golf cart "rules". It is common, particularly in the summer, to see under age drivers driving the golf cart. It is a danger to not only the guests themselves, but other visitors and residents!
We are glad you had a great time on the island and enjoyed the house. Calypso hopes you come back soon to visit and so do we!

"Awesome Island Location"

Your staff & crew were spectacular. Everyone was pretty much really helpful.
Our house was marginal...we had a toilet blow up...I had to fix it. tried to get someone from house keeping to help clean up mess...No response!!!
All kids had to shower outside due to faulty plumbing. Golf cart was plugged in & covered with overrun water from faulty pipes leaking. It was terrible!
Great place to have peace & quiet...It is beautiful island.
Next time we need a nicer place to stay!!!
Thank you so much!
Howie & Cherie Bubis
ps. We didn't get to choose location. It was what was available
Thank you for taking the time to review. We deeply apologize for the plumbing issue and the golf cart. We are working with maintenance and the owner to fix the plumbing.
We are glad to hear you had a great experience with our staff and had a nice time. Hope to see you again soon!

Our family enjoyed our Christmas week on North Captiva immensely and felt that we were a part of this laid back, wonderful community. We went Christmas caroling, enjoyed the NC Island Club facilities, fished and boated.
The new owners were very helpful. They would serve their guests better by replacing two soft beds and compiling an information notebook for their visitors. The house is very functional with a fine view of the Gulf.
"The island was a family setting to relax and enjoy each other."

I think just about any house on this Island would be fine, because the Island itself is the main part of the experience. My husband walked to the beach with his coffee every morning, we left the sliders open all night to hear the waves. The houses where well placed and we always felt like there was plenty of privacy. All 5 of my children had a great time. I would of liked the house to have some fishing gear, but we could of brought our own. We didnt buy food from the Island stores, and we didnt do any of the restaraunts, we cooked and ate all of our meals at the house which saved tons of money, and made the trip and stay real comfortable. We treated it like home and felt at ease the whole time. It was the refeshing time my family needed especially coming home to 7 inches of snow.

We had been here 2 years prior and knew the property. It was still wonderful. some problems with service from management - the shade/curtain still wasn't fixed before we left; the bathroom toilet still ran. But otherwise, it was wonderful.

First time visitors to North Captiva, but we will definitely be back! Our house, Havana Breeze, was exactly as described, the Ncic staff was very responsive to our needs, and Island Girls provides top-notch transportation! Special thanks to Josh and Sara Boinske for their attention to detail starting at our first call and throughout our entire stay.
Best advice is to plan ahead for food and supplies. Though our house was adequately stocked with utensils, etc., it would have been nice to have simple things like Saran Wrap, foil, etc.
If you are looking for man-made adventure, this is not the place for you. If you prefer quiet beauty which allows you to ignore the Blackberry, the laptop, and the hassles of "real life" for a little while, this is the place for you. Even our 18 and 13yo daughters were quick to appreciate how enjoyable it can be to disconnect.
