Once you arrive at The Conch House, the first thing you’ll notice is the spectacular downstairs pool area. Not only is there an oversized pool for everyone’s enjoyment, but there is also an island tiki bar– complete with 4-person bar seating, ice maker and a 42” HD TV. Where else can you watch the big game while you and the kids go swimming in the pool?! Loungers, Adirondack chairs and a dining table line the pool deck where there is a seat for everyone - in both the sun and shade. The pool has the much desired western exposure allowing for this amazing entertainment area to be enjoyed throughout the whole day into evening!
As you walk up the screened stairs to the second level of the home, you will notice an outdoor dining area complete with seating for 8. Enjoy protected outdoor dining while listening to the sounds of surf! A propane grill is located on the same level, so you won’t have to run up and downstairs to check on dinner. Upon entering into our home, you will notice this level is the main living area. The open floor plan allows the living room and kitchen to flow together – great for cooking and entertaining at the same time! GE Profile appliances, granite countertops, a 47” TV with Direct TVHD (including ALL of the premium channels) and a high-end iPod stereo make this area stand out! Adjacent to the living area are two nicely appointed bedrooms that share a full bath. Another half bath with washer and dryer is also located close by.
A walk up the stairs to the third floor leads you into the Master Suite. Island themed with beautiful wood floors and plantation shutters, it features a luxurious king size double pillow top bed, and includes a 47” LCD Flat Screen with DVD and Satellite. A double sink and double shower complete the Master Bathroom. Head outside via disappearing glass sliders to the covered Master deck – very private, this is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee and views of the Gulf.
Last, but certainly not least, is the 4th floor View Deck. Just added onto the house in 2012, this boasts spectacular views of the Gulf all the way around the island to the Bay. Take in gorgeous sunsets and celebrate the end of a perfect North Captiva day atop this view deck at The Conch House!

The logistics of remote islands take some planning, but it was worth it all. Nice help from all the staff. The home was comfortable and neat -- loved the heated pool. The hawks at dawn are awesome from the roof deck as are the sunsets as well. Read more
Great Photos! Thank you for taking the time to review. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the home and island and the help you received from our staff.

Our extended family has been coming to North Captiva during the holiday week for 10 years. Our experience has always been positive and we have thoroughly our "unplugged" days on the island. Our 2013 holiday week was booked and confirmed during august. Two weeks before our scheduled arrival the owner of this property backed out of the nine day rental agreement and feels it is their privilege to back out of an agreement at anytime. Needless to say, we will not be renting this property again and would warn others that they should be prepared. Read more
We sincerely apologize for your experience. We understand how disappointing and upsetting it is to have an agreement broken especially at the holidays. We strive in working with our owners to lock in their person use days months prior to usage.
This was a rare instance where the owner did break an agreement. We hope North Captiva Island Club Resort continues to be a part of your holiday tradition.

The house was pretty and very clean. Was nicely situated. I did encounter a few issues:
it was hard to control the temp in the house. The upstairs was blazing hot BC there seems to be no vents. No matter how much you turned to Thermastat down, Didnt make a big difference. Also little things like there was no broom to sweep the floors and no mops. In addtion, I felt as if the kitchen lacked a few essential pot/pans such as casserole dishes, baking dishes and a few other things.

Definite 'island time' feel-no hurry to get/go/do.Ferry ride, arrival & transmittal to the house was fine.We requested a high chair & two baby gates-they were delivered after & only one gate was provided.High chair had way too much mold on it for me to put my 8 mth old in it, quickly returned it & the gate was worn to say the least but worked.Home was nice enough for a family of four.It was clean but did have a number of bugs inside (spiders, gnats, noseeums)- the upstairs bath tub/shower constantly had bugs & hair when we first got there- had to clean it before washing the kids.Coffee table was broken so we moved it out of the way & didn't use it.Upstairs stayed warm so would not go back to that house as our family stayed up there, only space we could all fit. The island and beaches were beautiful.Golf carts only were a nice change from cars but too many children driving them (not well) with us driving with 2 small ones. The workers on the island ran us off the road multiple times. When you want to rent something be prepared to wait for it- it instructs you to text what you need to a number if no one is there but they don't come-I went to the outside bar and requested help (he was real nice and gave me chairs/umbrella). The 'gift shop' is not that it's a quicky gas station-esque room with somewhat grumpy employees.Upon my husband asking the lady how she was doing- she replied 'well, my boyfriend just quit & walked out so my day will probably go to sh*t now' so we were happy we had our 4 year old with us for that. One real treat was the Boat House- they are closed on Monday & we made a reservation for Monday-they took us & the Chef waited on us. He and his food was absolutely wonderful.Another item if you do order groceries from their service request an itemized receipt from the grocery store-it is not provided so you have no way of knowing how much/what was bought. All in all the service and amenities of North Captive Island Club was not great but the island was.

This was our first trip to North Captiva and we loved every minute of it! Conch House was just perfect for us and our 2 college age kids. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The master bedroom is on the 3rd floor by itself with a beautiful view although there was no door to the third floor--open staircase. We rented an extra cart and enjoyed driving around the island. Great days at the beach and never missed a sunset. The pool was great and we could watch the Ncaa tournament from the pool.We mostly grilled in but ate at the pool bar,Barnacle Phils, and and the Boathouse. All quite good but a bit expensive to be expected. We really liked the location of this house as it was in a quieter part of island closer to the park. Just a couple minute golf cart ride to the beach. A couple cool weather days typical of March. Hope to return again!

Overall pleased with every part of The Couch House! Pool, TV area, Tiki Bar is awesome place for the entire family to hang out! Exactly what we wanted! Warmest pool to date; which is great for that evening swim. Lacked storage in kitchen but thats a small issue when it comes to vacations. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Ncic :)
We plan to be back next year!

If you have children, I would highly suggest you look into North Captiva Island and The Conch House. I had many suggestions to choose a house without a pool because of the public pool but when you have two-year old twin boys and a 5 year old boy, the pool becomes the savior when you need to be close to home. I absolutely must have a tiki bar with a flat screen TV outside at my house someday! My only criticism of the island is, try not to make it so obvious that you can charge whatever you want for food, snacks and essentials once we're on the island. Other than that, the Island Club provided wonderful service, The Conch House couldn't have been more comfortable and the privacy is perfect. Plus, there is a very safe feeling on the island for kids. There are no cars and no paved roads, so there's no fear of an accident. The Gulf is much more calm than the atlantic, so there's not much worry about undertoe and strong waves. You'll be sorry of you don't take a look at North Cap!!!

I have nothing negative to stay about our vacation in North Captiva. The Conch House was in excellent condition. The decor of the home is splendid and gorgeous! This is our second time on the island, but this house made our trip extra special. The home is warm and welcoming. Great floor plan. We highly recommend it.

Great service: boat, planning, information on the house
The House is perfect and very comfortable despite the dryer which is really noisy. Otherwise everything was working well.
Very nice pool (perfect for kids), super grill.
Check out is too early. Not convenient with kids. We should have more flexibility.

We stayed at the Conch house for a month. The last week of February thru the third week of March. The staff at the Captiva club was very accommodating and nice. From Kayla and avina in the front office to Hillary, Jackie and amanda in the bar. We went on several excursions with boats of fun and every time we had a wonderful experience.
We will definitely be back next year.
The house has a new bar area by the pool with a big screen tv. You could live by the pool. The house was clean and comfortable and a good value.

Our family of five had an absolutely wonderful vacation on North Captiva. As our often particular eight year old son said, " this is the best vacation ever!". The house was fully equipped with all the amenities of home, but made you feel worlds away. The beach was unspoiled and beautiful. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We will return!
