“Relaxing and rejuvinating” My husband, six month old daughter and I spent the weekend here in May. It was outstanding. Kendall, the owner, was warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped out of the car. She provided us with maps of her property, which you can hike and explore. We especially enjoyed the koi pond and just sitting on the porch swing. The views are amazing from the porch and deck. The cabin is in Fairview, NC which is about 20 minutes away from Asheville. It is the perfect location, far enough away to feel as if you are the only ones around, but close enough to downtown to run in for dinner. You don't have to, however, because there is a restaurant, The Local Joint, about 5 minutes away. They have a variety of local food and organic entrees. Excellent. Kendall is a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor. We were able to get massages for both my husband and myself, which were fantastic. I also opted to take a private yoga lesson, which was awesome. I am a super-beginner, and she was able to make the class both on my level and enjoyable. We got the "relaxation weekend" which I highly recommend. The massage and yoga class (or sauna treatment) come with the cabin price. There is a hot tub which we were unable to use (because we needed to watch the baby), but looked very inviting. Overall, I would give this vacation spot 5 stars, more if I could!

“The best of the best” I have been visiting and staying in rental places in Western NC for many years and the Kilkelly Cabin has no peer. The cabin is perfect and the views other worldly but the best part of the experience are the hosts. Joanie and Gary made sure our stay was more than we ever could have imagined. We celebrated my son's graduation from App St, my Mom's 80th birthday and Mother's Day all in one spectacular long weekend. It literally could not have been better. 5 stars are not nearly enough. Thanks Joanie and Gary. We'll be back

“Beautiful cabin and view” The drive to the cabin was fairly easy since the road is paved. However, the turn in to the private drive was tricky for our Chrysler Town and Country minivan. We couldn't make it in one turn and had to stop and backup a little then put it back in drive to make the turn. Also, any time we left the cabin we had to backup and put it back in drive a couple of times before we could get turned around. Smaller vehicles will probably not have this problem. The cabin is beautiful with all the large windows and so many gorgeous logs! We loved sitting out on the deck looking at the mountains and listening to the nearby creek. We wished a few more trees had been cut down, but were happy for those that had been. We understand the sun could be a problem since there are no blinds in the kitchen or living room and we had the sun in our eyes every morning. I would recommend some of the small pull down blinds for those windows. The decks are awesome and provide a ton of space, but we wish there had been more furniture on both decks (there is none on the lower level where the hot tub is). The hot tub and sauna were amazing. The upstairs guest bathtub is wonderful, as is the shower downstairs. There needs to be more bath/hand towels and washcloths in all bathrooms. I would recommend towels on the lower level specifically for use with the hot tub/sauna. We had fun playing pool and the table is in great shape. As much as we loved the cabin there was one thing that would keep us from going back...the beds. Not everyone slept well and when you are somewhere for a week rest is important. We realize bed preferences are very individualized and others may find them more comfortable than we did. Lastly, the reservation process and picking up/returning keys was very easy.

“A great cabin with an awesome view.” The Above the Clouds Retreat is truly a beautiful mountain cabin experience that you want to return to again and again. We have rented many cabins in the mountains over the years and I must say, this is the one we've enjoyed the most. The screen porch with very comfortable seating overlooking an awesome view of the Smokies is perfect for total relaxation. The cabin is beautifully decorated and has all of the amenities of home. Joanie is a great gal who truly cares about her cabin and does her utmost to provide a great vacation experience for her renters. We plan on returning as soon as our schedule will permit.

“Wonderful cabin!” My husband and I stayed here with our teen aged daughter for our older daughters wedding. The cabin is gorgeous. The decks are wonderful, large and comfortable. “Perfect Peaceful Spot on the River” Jack and Christy were great. We briefly mentioned we were “getting away” for our anniversary and they had champagne and a lovely card waiting for us. We travelled to the area to visit Biltmore, which is a must see. The cabin is about 25 mins. away from Biltmore and is a perfect spot to enjoy peace and quiet and enjoy a little nature. We sat by a fire in the evening, listening to the river rumble and were able to see a deer come to the river as well as ducks and an Osprey glide between the trees. It’s only 5 mins. from I-40 but you feel like you miles and miles away from anyone. Jack and Chrsty, thanks again for your hospitality. Your beautiful cabin and attention to detail throughout made our anniversary one that we’ll remember for a long time. Oh- and the frosty beer mugs in the freezer were much appreciated.

“Loved this place” I rented this place for family coming into town. We all absolutely loved it! The house is very nice and new. “Beautiful, extremely comfortable, would go back again!!!” My family and I stayed for 8 days and could not have asked for a more comfortable, clean well-built cabin to spend our vacation. The views were beautiful especially the sunrise in the morning over the deck. There were six of us, all adults, and the house was large enough that we all had our own space when needed. We were close to trout fishing, zip lining and water rafting. One of the things that stood out to me was the quality of the furnishings from the bedding, linens to all of the kitchen ware. The whole cabin has been decorated with taste and quality. My family enjoyed the hot tub every night. We grilled on the deck, made smores over the fire pit. It was truly a wonderful vacation that was made even more memorable by the cabin itself. I would definitely go back again and hope to!!!

“Relax- you've found your cabin” Just what we needed to get away from it all for a few days. Clean, well furnished cabin that had all the essentials plus some nice extras in case you forgot some things. Truly spectacular setting with outstanding views. “We loved every minute of our stay.” This cabin is just beautiful! We spent a week here. Mornings found us on the front porch enjoying the mountain air and the music of birds singing. It's a perfect location for just relaxing, bird watching or to set out on mountain adventures! Mingo Falls is nearby and the stunning view will have you wanting to stay for hours! Tom Branch, Juney Whank, Soco and Meigs falls are also nearby and all beautiful! We had several meals at the cabin and found all the pots, pans, utensils and table settings needed. It's a short drive to many restaurants and we located a Ruth's Chris restaurant on the Cherokee Indian Casino grounds for a special birthday celebration. I would highly recommend the Climbing Bear Creekside Cabin for anyone wanting to have an unforgettable mountain vacation!

“Perfect getaway” Is this edited version ok to put on the website? We just had the most relaxing time at Mountain Dream Cabins. We went with very little expectation as this was our first mountain getaway after moving to Charlotte 7 months ago. We absolutely loved it. The cabins are so you have a lot of privacy and we like that a lot. It was great to unwind and disconnect from the world for a short time.
