“Lovely Condo with an Excellent View” Our family stayed mid Oct and was blessed with great weather. It was our first trip to the Outer Banks. This condo has an amazing oceanfront view with a large furnished balcony. It was clean and well furnished. The owner was very attentive. The location was also excellent- we were within walking distance to several great restaurants. We also enjoyed the nearby Wright Bros Museum. Definitely would stay again.

“Fun vacation for all” Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nena's Nook. House lovely (only complaint some dishes and baking pans were put away still dirty), location perfect, lots of activities. Kids ages 13 thru 23 all loved it. The keyless entry/ no check in/out feature was sooo convenient.

“Excellent family rental” Home was extremely nice and just as pictured online. It is also located within walking distance of several good restaurants and the beach. The owner was also easy to reach and responded in a very timely fashion with any questions that I had.

“Peaceful” The unit we stayed in was very clean. Our unit favorite was the balcony swing. It was nice to sit on in the evenings, in the shade, and listen to the ocean sounds. We enjoyed walks in the evening at Fort Fisher. My personal highlight of the stay was seeing dolphins the first early morning of our stay. The restaurants are nearby and so is a grocery store called Food Lion. We enjoyed visiting nearby towns of Wilmington and Southpoint. You can find even more good eats and quaint local shopping there. I would have given 5 stars but we were disappointed that we couldn't see the entire beach from the balcony due to the setback of the building behind two other buildings. The ocean is directly in front of the unit but the view is obscured due to the two buildings on either side. Also, the workout center was closed due to construction the entire stay. The unit could also use an updated microwave. The owners are very easy to work with and good at communication.

“Relaxing and fun time with friends.” Overall a wonderful vacation with a great check-in and check-out process, extremely clean amenities, and a great location. The only issue that we had was that for 4 days of our 7 day stay the internet at the house did not work. This would not have been a big deal except for the fact that a number of our party members needed to have internet access in order to complete Grad work and school work. Other than this the visit to OBX and Corolla was wonderful and the Corolla Corral was a fantastic home.

“Incredible!” Very clean and spacious. The place was well stocked and the owners are super nice and quick to respond. Highly recommend this place to everyone. “Outer Banks is the place to be!” This is an older home in the quiet Sanderling community of Duck, NC. The location doesn't get any better -- boarded walk to the beach, great decking for watching sunrises and sunsets, and a nearly private beach. You have easy access to the running, walking path along Route 12 but since you're back in the neighborhood you have no traffic noise. The home is sturdy, open, well-furnished, and has everything you need for a week at the beach. We loved the family room on the upper level with plenty of windows, comfy seating, a large table for dinners, and an island for more casual breakfasts and snacks. There are plenty of games, puzzles, books, and movies that are great for rainy days. It suited our purposes just fine. The only criticisms are: the house was extremely dusty -- we didn't dare turn on the fans for fear the inch of dust coating them would be all over the place if we did; the bathrooms are somewhat dark; the shed light was burned out and the shed was such a mess we didn't even bother to try to get any of the bikes out to use -- couldn't find a pump anyway. We had a very large mouse running around the loft. From the size of him he's been there quite sometime enjoying some good food. As he was too big for a regular mouse trap (we tried to catch him) we told the folks at Outer Banks Blue about him. Hopefully they have ousted the critter. We did mention the dust problem to the Outer Banks Blue guy that showed up the day we checked in. He said he would have to put a service order in but that didn't happen while we were there. We had an issue with the grill and someone came out and took care of it right away. Overall, we were very happy with the experience. We know this is an older house and we're fine with that but the cleaning crew needs to do a better job.

“Unbelievable location and did so many things at this unique cabi” Easy to check in and out. The outside and inside look even better in person. The way it was designed & decorated was so creative with all the small touches around the cabin. Very clean throuhout the cabin and on the outside. The location was perfect. Anything you could ever want to do: Golfing, hiking, fishing, skiing, tubing, canoeing, and site seeing. At the community center you can even play volleyball, basketball and other activities. They have 24 hour security in this gating community with partrol cars. I loved the fire pit in the backyard of the cabin and it has the biggest loft I have ever seen. You could walk out the cabin and start hiking on the trails. River in the back and a huge lake steps away. I'm so glad that we decided on this cabin for our vacation. Thank you very much to the River Cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“Nice and Cozy” We had a great time during Spring Break 2014. We wanted to do something a little different with grandkids this year, and this Cottage was perfect. (We normally go to Gatlinburg) Cottage sits right on the river with the deck actually out over the river. Hot tub was well taken care of and located where we had a nice view of the river. We didn't realize we had scheduled opening day of trout fishing season, but we took advantage, and my son caught several nice fish right on the property. I enjoyed the fact that the cottage is a part of history, (Former Bat Cave Post Office), yet everything was updated with new fixtures and electronics. The beds slept great, and the grand kids loved the game room. Chimney Rock State Park and little downtown area are just a few minutes from the cottage on the same road. We were a little concerned about available dining close by, but were pleasantly surprised with the variety of options. Also used the available stainless Weber grill on the deck. I am certain we will return later in the summer. The owners were very nice, and made us feel like we were appreciated. Overall a very nice and relaxing vacation. (The massage chair was a bonus when I could get the kids out of it)
