Additional Location Information

Rosedale Abbey is a village in the North York Moors National Park. It grew in the mid 19th century when a rich iron ore seam was discovered. This was mined until the 1920s and many of the houses were built for the mine workers, managers and all the people that served them. Remains of the mining activity can still be seen. This is the largest area of upland heather moorland in England and the scenery is spectacular. It is a great place for walking, bird watching, cycling (if you can manage the hills) or just enjoying the scenery. The spectacular Heritage coastline is less than 20 miles away and the city of York is about the same distance.
For any sort of holiday - active or just chilling out - there's nowhere better.
