“Luxurious home from home” Had a fabulous stay in this lovely cottage in March 2012. The weather was sunny and warm and we had some fabulous walks both on the beach, the pennine way and the surrounding countryside. The cottage and all its facilites are excellent and the enclosed back garden was a real plus and brilliant for our dog. The cottage is situated in a lovely position with some great walks around the area and some lovely dog friendly pubs. The only addition I would recommend to the owners of the cottage is a large rug in the lounge area as the floor was freezing even when the heating was on. Would highly recommend this cottage and we hope to return again.

“Superb holiday accommodation and location.” This must be about the best holiday cottage we have ever rented from any company. The fittings and equipment were top class, the bathroom the very best we have found in a holiday rental. It is located near to some stunning country side and coast with walks galore.

“Homely, well equiped in a fantastic location” The owners had left mugs and everything ready to make a cup of tea on our arrival, and a bottle of wine. This was very much appreciated on a dark December night. It was warm and inviting and had everything we needed. My large family had a fantastic stay, thank you

“Perfect!!” The Goat Shed was the perfect place to spend our 10 year wedding anniversary. Lovely walks close by and friendly pubs (which welcomed our dog Busta!)...all in all a perfect place to spend a week relaxing. Highly recommend the Goat Shed for couples wanting to get away from it all.

“the cottage was pet friendly and has an enclosed garden.” The owners of the cottages lived right opposite so if you needed anything they were available. Our 2 small dogs loved the cottage and enclosed garden. The cottage was immaculate.

“Peace and alpacas” We booked this property in early October without a thought for the weather, however two weeks before our arrival, the snow fell heavily in the UK. I kept in contact with the owner who assured us they would get us into the fairly remote property at least as they owned a 4x4. The plan was to arrange a Tesco home delivery on the day that we arrived, but the on-line service had stopped taking any more bookings due to the snow. So a quick shopping expedition on our way to North Yorkshire and we were excited. The place is about 1/2 mile off the main road and we found it no problem even in the dark. We were met by Kaye, the owner who soon put us at ease and after a quick run down of the cottage, explained where the local hostelry was. I had been nominated chef for the week, so a quick search round "my kitchen" put me in a great party mood. It was perfect, everything to hand, clean and well equipped. It is a farm cottage on a working smallholding with dogs, chickens, sheep and the alpacas over the fence. The property has a large comfy double bedroom and in the lounge the comfiest sofa bed I have ever slept on. It has constant hot water, a great shower and a stable door to look out into the foldyard. We spent lazy days at home, with the small TV, and plenty of books in the property it was a relaxing break. We are not walkers or ramblers but spent our time equally between "the Bay" and Whitby exploring the lovely shops, pubs and harbour. You cannot go to Whitby without buying smoked Kippers from Fortunes. you cannot visit the Bay without a couple of pints in the pub looking out to sea. We only needed assistance once in our front wheel drive car but the locals were as helpful as any you would wish to meet. Would we go again, you bet your auntie Nelly we would. Lovely cottage, Lovely people, Lovely area!

“Perfect retreat for couples” Excellent welcome on arrival, very spacious & clean. Both cottage & surrounding area absolutely first class. Will defiantly recommend to friends & family. Really good heating system & plenty of hot water. The thing we liked best was the lovely bathroom facilities. The thing we liked least was the TV was too small for the room although it worked well & had plenty of channels.

ABBEY VIEW COTTAGE, pet-friendly, with a garden in Robin Hood's Bay, Ref 1067
Brilliant location, wonderful cottage

The cottage was small but it didn't feel like that. We had two adults in the bedroom and two children on the sofa bad. The bedroom was big enough to keep four people's stuff. The rest of the cottage was great too. Lovely location with plenty to do. Every day we were out for full days of fun. … see more

Warm, comfortable cottage in a lovely location

The cottage was warm, clean and welcoming. Everything you would need was supplied in the kitchen. Real Christmas tree was a lovely touch to our New Year break. Owners and their lovely dog were very friendly. Great location for many walks but remember essentials as no local shops. We travelled in to Whitby to Sainsburys to stock up for our stay. Would stay againsee more
THE GOAT SHED, pet friendly, character holiday cottage in Robin Hood’S
Loved every minute

We stayed for a week in august, at The Goatshed, and really enjoyed our holiday, as did our Portuguese Water Dog artchie. The accommodation was ideal for anyone with a dog, with all you could possibly need. A lovely walk into Robin Hood's Bay, but beware it's uphill on the way back. We would definitely stay here again, on our next visit to the Whitby area. The owners are very approachable, and live on the farm adjacent.see more

A room with a view

Fantastic location with the most beautiful scenery. Be warned very remote - just what I wanted a complete getaway, but for some it may be too isolated. House in great condition and furnishings top quality. Open fire an added bonus. Ideal place for walking. Did not miss lack of wi-fi -helped to make the holiday a complete break.
