THE GRANARY, family friendly, luxury holiday cottage, with a garden in

Longframlington house

“Best Holiday In Years!” The Granary is a cottage to fall in love with. From the moment you drive through the gates, to discovering and falling for this sumptuously appointed and spacious holiday home, to waving goodbye and wishing you didn't have to, I cannot rate it highly enough. For a couple or small family it is just superb and my fiance and I only wish we could have stayed there during the summer months to enjoy the patio etc fully. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms particularly are as if brand new, simply stunning and near faultless, the 2 power showers excellent, although the shower cubicle base did fill up to the limit within about ten minutes for those who like me enjoy a longer shower! But the over bath shower next door was of the same type and did not suffer this minor problem. Great tiles, mirrors, lighting, heated towel rails, etc etc. Kitchen utility area and downstairs toilet beyond it are a real bonus and all so well presented you felt pampered. Fully equipped kitchen, only gripes were tin opener wasn't working and no egg cups, I defy you to find any others! The sunsets from the large kitchen cartwheel window were beautiful and provided some lovely snaps of my car. The plentiful books/crosswords/Dvds/CDs/games were a nice touch and added to our holiday, as did Hamish, the friendly doorstop dog! Comfy beds, although we found the 2 seater sofa of only average comfort, a bit slidey and needed a throw. Enjoyed the candles and woodburner and melting pleasantly even during the cold spell, plenty of wood and coal supplied for a week. Central heating superb although smoke alarm annoyingly activated whenever grilled anything. Lots of places to visit in all directions, Alnwick, Berwick, Morpeth, Rothbury, Coast, what more do you want? The owners were very cheerful and helpful although they were in process of moving out. We were greeted by the new owners who we also found friendly. Ah, the memories. Best holiday in years!!!

“Beautiful Surprise” After travelling up from Southampton, Hampshire, we arrived at 10.15pm on a wet November evening, weariness faded upon opening the door to Englewood, as reality was better than Sykes description. The kitchen is well equipped and a dinner party would be easy as there is plenty of cutlery crockery and serving dishes. The next morning we woke to the beautiful view from both back and front bedrooms, and the garden is delightful with a bubbling stream on the other side of the garden. Misty our dog loved it, would have loved to have a swim even more, but not suitable for that as stream flows over rocks. The open fire in the lounge made evenings so warm and cosy and the furniture is very comfortable and easily seats 6. Lots of literature gave us ideas for places to visit. The bed was the best we'd ever staying in, I have chronic back problems and dread new beds, I had perfect nights sleep from day one thank you. We loved the paintings by the owner around the cottage, wanted to sneak a couple home with us! Thank you we will be back.

“fanastic accomodation and situated in a good place.” We recieved good service from the start. The house was well equiped, clean, comfortable, warm, and generally good all round. The gardens were nice and decent sized for the kids to play in. When we first arrived we felt like the house was in a unlikely posistion but it turned out to be a good central base. it was nice to be able have things in walking distance, such as the shop and the beach. There was ample space for a family and it also felt quite homly. The thing we liked best was the two living areas, the two batrooms and the comfortable beds. It probably would of been better if the garden had of been fenced in but it wasn't really a problem. We very much enjoyed our stay and we would love to go back again.

“Beautifully decorated and furnished.” This is a lovely place for a couple to stay. It makes a great base for a touring holiday in Northumberland. In walking distant of Hadrian's Wall. The inside is done to a very high standard and is comfortable. There's plenty of shops, cafes and pubs in the village. The only downside is that it's on a main road but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of our holiday in any way.

Park View Apartment
Flat with a good location

This is a little flat that's big and well maintained. Pros: Size - it's fairly large Location - Centre of town Owner - Friendly and gave us a lift from the station Cons: Single-glazing meant the property was loud as it's on a main junction. Apparently this is being resolved Bins - There are no recycling bins; just one landfill bin.see more

Wonderful cottage in peaceful location

The cottage is clean, modern and comfortable with plenty of room. The location is peaceful and sitting out on the patio was very relaxing especially as we had fantastic weather all week. The owner visited us soon after arrival to ensure that we had settled in ok and she was very helpful when I arranged to have a wheelchair delivered to the cottage before we arrived. Would highly recommend this cottage and would love to stay here again.see more
Cute, Charming and Characterful Juliet Cottage, Central Alnwick, Northumberland
Like a warm and welcoming hug!

A one week stay and We can't say enough great things about this cottage. Great location just a short walk from the village, castle and gardens. We made lunch in the cottage and had a picnic on the castle grounds several of the days. We didn't have a car and it was an easy and short bus ride to Bamburgh and Warkworth castles.Clean and tidy and many sweet touches like fresh flowers and treats on arrival. Lots of great information on the area was available in the cottage and also sent by Louise before we arrived! The kids (9 and 4) loved the space and there was also a playground up the street by the police station. We would highly recommend the cottage! Would love to stay again.see more
