This house is one of the hidden treasures of Guiones, it welcomes up to 8 persons. Surrounded by a jungle garden, it has an ideal location with an 8 minute walk to the famous Baker's beach, the Nosara Yoga Institute and a bit longer walk to local restaurants and shops.
The main house has two bedrooms and a casita next to it sleeps four. One bedroom has a king bed and the bathroom, with a bathtub, a rare commodity in Nosara, is within the bedroom, with privacy screen on the toilet. The second bedroom has a full-size bed with separate bathroom. Both bedrooms in the main house have a/c and are separated by the kitchen and living room. A short flight of stair takes you to the second bathroom.
The Casita has a set of bunk bed and two twin beds that can be set into a king. There is a private bathroom with toilet and sink on one side and a shower on the other side, a table and chairs, as well as a small fridge and ceiling fans. Please note that the casita will not be rented separately from the main house, therefore you will not have to share the grounds with anyone else even if you only use the main house.
The pool and outdoor shower will welcome you upon your return from either location. For families with young children, please note that the pool has no fence. Most of the pool is only one step up, but the highest side is about 4-foot high and is only protected by plants and trees. The owners plan to build an adjacent terrace that will close this gap. The idea is to have a covered place where guests can practice yoga or similar activities. It will be ready by next December, normally.

We were a party of 6 adults and a nine years old boy( my grandson).
Everybody found something special in Guiones: walking in the beach, going to a yoga class,or simply rest in the hammock under the shadow of giants trees at the house garden or swim in the pool.
The house was clean and very confortable. The kitchen had more than we expected so we enjoyed cooking all the meals and then ate them in the nice terrace.

This house is fabulous! We were pleasantly surprised as the photos do not do it justice. Our family of 4 stayed for 10 weeks and had a number of guests during that time that were very comfortable in the Casita. We did not need a car as it's about a 7 minute walk to the beach and under 10 minutes to get to "town" (where the shops are) if you know the trails. Agnes and Joe and their entire staff are friendly, reliable and took great care of us. We hope the house stays in the rental program and will rent it for years to come if it's available!

Tortuga Feliz lived up to all our expectations and made us feel very much at home "away from home". It was clean and well-maintained and the staff was very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed waking up to the sound of the howler monkeys in the canopy above the house and we had regular visits from the resident pizotes! Beach is 8 minutes' walk away and there are very good restaurants in the area.
But ... you have to get used to the dust - it is everywhere!!! Otherwise a super vacation!

We stayed in "La Tortuga Feliz" last New Year's eve.
The house is well equipped and nicely decorated. The house is also spacious and well distributed. The beach is not as closed as we wanted, but the walk to the beach is very enjoyable.
I recommend the house. However, I do not recommend Nosara. We were disappointed to see how "americanized" Nosara is turning: restaurants have expensive prices in american dollars, menus are in English, waiters do not speak a word of Spanish and people have "attitudes". Foreigners should show more respect for the native Costa Rican culture.
“Yoga, surfing, and... oh yeah the kids had fun too!”

My wife and I and our two young daughters (2 and 5) spent 10 days at Tortuga Feliz with our best friends and their young son. The property was perfect for our group and we loved the setting. The kids had a great time exploring the area and swimming in the pool. The moms took advantage of the treetop classes at the Yoga institute and the dads spent a lot of time at the beach surfing. By the end of the stay the kids were all surfing too as well as the moms.
The property is close enough to everything at Playa guiones that we walked most places although we did rent bikes for the grocery store trips. The daily walks to the beach were a time for us to look for the howlers and iguanas that we often saw along the way. We cooked most of our meals in house so the kitchen got a real workout. The cooktop took time to get used to as it was very slow to heat up but we got the hang of it.
During our stay, we all lost our watches or they stopped working so we sort of lost track of time. We really lost track when the power went out in the night and I had to meet a taxi at 6:30am to go fishing. Next time we will pack a travel alarm. All in all it was a wonderful way to escape the cold of Colorado and relax, relax relax!
