Spacious and comfortable, family friendly lodges sleeping 4. Situated close to Oban, which boasts year round vibrancy. An ideal base for families or groups of friends wishing to explore Scotland.
Oban is less than 3 miles from Lerags and known locally as the gateway to the Isles and seafood capital of Scotland. Oban boasts a year round vibrancy with superb diving, kayaking and yachting and several regattas are held in the bay each summer, which add to its charm. With an ever growing reputation for superb fresh seafood and shellfish, Oban's restaurants are definitely worth a visit, there is everything on offer from organic Japanese to family-friendly pizza and pasta. A water taxi runs to Kerrera, the nearest island to Oban and the larger ferries operate regular services to the Inner and Outer Hebridean islands, an island visit is a ‘must do' experience and most are accessible as part of a day trip and organised tour.
Inland from Oban the west coast scenery mellows and the rolling hills and glens provide plenty of space and freedom to roam. You are never far from the water and sea lochs, rivers and burns dominate the countryside offering first class fishing. Within an hour's drive you have the highland town of Fort William and Ben Nevis, and closer still you have the glorious gardens of Argyll, numerous historic castles (Dunollie House in Oban is worth a visit) museums and ancient standing stones in the birthplace of Scotland at Dunadd.
Lerags location is less than 3 miles from Oban town centre making it an ideal base for a holiday in Scotland. There is plenty to keep the family occupied on site too including a forestry commission trail which leads from the car park outside The Barn Bar, where excellent meals are served using locally sauced produce, to Loch Glean a Bhearraidh, here guests can enjoy free fishing for wild brown trout. The Barn Bar has live music on Sunday afternoons and is open all year (weekends only over the winter months), there is a beer garden and a wooden play area and fully fenced duck pond to keep the children amused. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area, most from the site.

Have stayed at Colagin a couple of times now, great lodges very peaceful. Having The Barn Bar on site is very handy as a few miles out of Oban, so no taxi's needed! Friendly atmosphere. Would go back again.
“Excellent venue for a family and friends celebration”

We booked the farmhouse and 11 of the chalets for my husbands 50th birthday celebration in March 2013.
The owner was very helpful with the booking from start to finish (it took 6 months to organise as we had 60 people).
All the accommodation was warm, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The farmhouse where our family stayed was very spacious and beautifully kept (we could live there).
The Barn Bar on site was very welcoming and served lovely food. On the Saturday night we had sole use of the Barn Bar for our party and a hog roast was put on which went down very well. On the Sunday night, local musicians played and kept us entertained.
The location is beautiful, with stunning scenery and lovely walks from the door. The 30 kids present had great fun around the grounds and in the childrens playground.
Oban is only a few minutes drive away for visiting, shopping, restaurants and getting supplies.
Overall I cannot fault the weekend we spent there. All our family and friends enjoyed it. It was worth the few hours travelling and we would definitely return.
“Great family accommodation in beautiful surroundings!”

Great place for us to go with kids & dog! Lots of freedom for kids to play, they enjoyed play park & local walks. Would love to return when big barn open. Good service from owners when we reported oven was broken. Cabin's carpets and sofa could maybe be upgraded as seems fair age but as we we were in dog friendly one with 2 young kids so it actually made us more relaxed to know the place wasn't pristine.

The lodges are run by a lovely couple, there dogs were very friendly! The lodge its self were very homely:-) had gd facilities and very spacious, stayed in umber 18 which was set a little bit further out than the others. Must say they were a tad cold but heaters soon warmed up, quiet rural location with lovely scenery and nice walks, unfortunately weather wasnt the best but the lodge kept us occupied with having a tv etc! overall was great just getting away, was no phone signals on our mobiles which meant we got extra piece and quiet! On one of our walks we were accompanied by Benji the chocolate
lab...was a lovely natured dog that kept us company on our walk! Five minute drive from oban centre so very handy for goin to shops, best of worlds!
“A cosy and comfortable chalet set in peaceful woodland.”

Booked through a KGB deal to explore Oban and surrounding area. We didn't know what to expect but upon arrival everything was lovely. We had a 2 bedroom lodge that could easily sleep a family of six. Very clean, modern and comfortable. Pub on site served a variety of ales and whisky and good food. The site is based just outside Oban set in lovely forest side. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend a stay here.

We received a pleasant welcome and efficient service at Cologin. We found the home to be very clean and comfortable, although the decor and furnishings are jaded and showing signs of age.
We found the location to be very pleasant and extremely rural which we are used to and this was enhanced by perfect weather. Although set deep in the countryside, Cologin is just a stone's throw from Oban and it's facilities. We used "The Barn" twice for evening meals and found it to produce very good food - both in flavour and presentation.
We were very disappointed in the poor state of repair of the last part of the approach road into Cologin ( a stretch of approx 200 metres) The depth of some of the potholes were incredible and it was impossible to straddle them - not a good impression when you first arrive and irritating to know you have to negotiate them every entry and exit you make from the site - not a major problem to remedy I would have thought.
All in all a pleasant break
