This is a lovely, well appointed cottage very close to the lake in Southampton. The deck out back was a welcome spot to enjoy the late afternoons and early evenings. The kitchen had pretty much everything you could need, and lots of room for storage. The bathrooms were both in good working order, although the dehumidifier did make the bathroom in the basement rather hot. The upstairs double is definitely the nicest of all the bedrooms; the downstairs bed with two double beds could be made to feel a little more cozy, but that's a minor criticism.
My only concern was that we booked the cottage on the understanding that the bunkie was a viable sleeping space (queen size and single) but it's really just a bit of extra space to play in for the kids. I wouldn't have been happy to put any of our adult guests in it and the kids weren't really old enough to stay out there on their own. I've recommended that the owner put a few photos of the inside of the bunkie on the site so anyone booking can made a really educated decision about whether the space is big enough for all the guests.
That aside, we had a brilliant time and were delighted with the overall experience. Thanks!

This cottage is less than two blocks from High St. (main street of downtown Southampton) - it is easy to walk to stores and the beach. We liked being able to walk to the meat market, liquor store (Lcbo), convenience store, and downtown shops. Sunsets by the flag are an easy walk and being so close is nice when its a dark walk back. Being able to hear the waves from the deck is a nice perk too.
The cottage itself is nothing too exciting. It has roomy bedrooms, but the living area (extension of the kitchen) is a little cramped when you have a full house. We had a party of 9 (6 adults, 3 children) and couldn't all sit together comfortably. The deck made things easier as it has more table space for eating and sitting space, but it's disconnected from interior spaces.
The beds were comfortable enough and each bedroom had ample room for the sleeping arrangements provided. We were surprised at how little sound traveled from room to room - a very pleasant surprise given the usual paper-thin walls of cottages and hotels. Having 2 full bathrooms was also nice with a big party. A washer and dryer from this century was also very nice. There wasn't much room for kids to play, but we didn't spend all that much time indoors, so it wasn't a big issue.
There are cheaper cottages, but it's hard to find anything in town that sleeps this many that aren't expensive. The price per-person isn't bad, so its a good deal if you are a big party.

I found nothing wrong with this cottage. All the amenities were new. Very clean. beds were very comfortable. The bunkie would definately not suit adults. Very difficult to access the upper bed and somewhat enclosing. Kids would likely love it. I found that the cottage was a little expensive compared to others in the area
