Manoir du val Harangt

The Manoir du Val Harangt is a beautiful half-timbered Normandy manor typical of the Pays d’Auge, dating from the 16th Century. There is no trace of its origin in the archives of the Department, but when planting the apple orchard, a tournament coin (a denier tournoi) was found dated 1598, during the reign of Henri IV. The coat of arms above the front door indicates that the manor existed in 1638, the date of birth of Louis XIV, since the monogram of Louis XIII is engraved on both sides; France was at that time giving grateful thanks to the Virgin Mary for the birth of a male heir.
