Cottage Profile Beautiful sand beaches are where Mother Nature lovingly places them! Who are we to ask why? Nestled along a rocky shoreline between two conservation areas, the Leith Beach House is a beautiful, sand beach ‘oasis’ of a three bedroom waterfront cottage located on the shores of Georgian Bay. From the crafty folk art ‘fish’ truss ends to the shipwrecked boat, this cottage will awe both young and old visitors! Like every waterfront cottage should, the view to and of the water is celebrated. While a monstrous 55" plasma TV screen dominates the room, the open living room / dining area has an even larger ‘screen’ of large windows and sliding glass doors to provide a panoramic view of Georgian Bay. The main living area has two couches, a comfortable chair, oil fired stove, and dining room area with wooden family table and chairs that will seat everyone in your group comfortably. With its easy access to the dining room, the large kitchen - with fridge, stove, dishwasher and plenty of cupboard space - is a joy to work and entertain in! It too celebrates the water view and the skylight adds plenty more sunlight too!! Adjacent to the kitchen there is a mainfloor washroom (3-piece with shower stall) which doubles as the laundry room (with washer and dryer). Further down the hall is a small office with a fold out couch, and high speed internet. A short flight of stairs leads upstairs to the bedrooms. There are 3 bedrooms here and 2 bathrooms. One bathroom serves two bedrooms and a luxurious separate en-suite bathroom is part of the large master bedroom suite. While the cottage has its own large sand beach, it is located between the Hibou and Leith Spit Conservation Areas. Both have their own sandy beaches and wildlife areas. Hibou has a long boardwalk with interpretive walks through a wetland and beaver lodge/dam. Enjoy a quiet walk and enjoy the outdoors and later, warm up and get cozy in front of the outdoor fire pit at the cottage. There is also a large deck facing the lake to enjoy. The deck provides a commanding view of the lake and sunsets over the water. The deck comes equipped with comfortable lounge chairs and a patio table to enjoy all your meals outdoors. There is a picnic table on a separate wooden deck nearer to the beach too! Bring sunscreen! Remarkably, the beach is blessed with full sun all day long (assuming there’s sun that is!). Unfortunately, the hot tub is not for renters' use. The cottage is within walking distance of the historic Leith Church, which is the burial place of the renowned local Group of Seven painter, Tom Thomson. Or slip into Owen Sound on Sunday nights for the Summer Harbour Nights concerts featuring live music of all genres. The cottage is close to many attractions, either walk and grab a bite at the Bay River Restaurant or it is only a ten minute drive to Owen Sound with its shopping mall, restaurants, museum, theatres and art galleries.
