Step out, settle into a deck chair and relax with a book and a cool drink. From here you can take in some of the most breathtaking sunsets ever seen. Walk down to the lake for a cooling dip on a warm, dog day afternoon. Entry into the protected beach is ankle deep. The shoreline is a mixture of sand and cobble having gradual entry into the water with good swimming. The water is sparkling clear and cool but bring some water-shoes for greater comfort. Toss in a line off the stone groyne if you're fishing afficionado - the rainbow trout are some of Georgian Bay's finest! The living room is furnished with a couch, chair, and a radio. There is also a woodstove to take the chill off on those cool summer and fall nights. A 37 inch LCD TV is provided. Adjacent to the living area is a fully equipped kitchen. I was at Cedar Rock with my parents and my family (son is almost 3). This was a very beautiful cottage, well kept and clean.
The couches and chairs were comfortable, the kitchen was a nice size and the bathtub was wonderfully deep! The washer and dryer were great to have too. It was nice to have satellite TV for rainy days. The middle bedroom's bed left me with a sore back, but my parents said theirs was comfortable.
The bonfire area was very nice and the property was well maintained. The views (especially at sunset) were breathtaking!
The bedrooms were pretty hot and stuffy overnight with no breeze; ceiling fans in the bedrooms would have been nice.
You could walk less than 10 minutes to get to a small conservation area, but it was too rocky to go swimming and too shallow for fishing.
It was a short jaunt into town, with wonderful Harrison Park close by (we went there 3 times for our son), as well as a few waterfalls and many restaurants and stores. Coffin Ridge Winery was only a 20 min drive away as well.
The fishing was a disappointment. The fish were very scarce (you could see way down into the crystal clear water) and they were nowhere near the cottage - you needed to go to one of the rafts way out in the water to catch anything.
Also, the swimming was not great. The water was warmer than I expected, but only came to about thigh deep by the end of the little inlet of the cottage and full of really big (and slippery!) rocks. Water shoes are a must have or you'd hurt yourself pretty badly. To get chest deep water you'd need to go out pretty far.
To keep our little one busy we caught crayfish and built some sandcastles (there's only a little strip of sand), but he got bored fairly quickly since the water was cool.
If this cottage had better fishing and swimming, it would be amazing, but it was a nice trip overall.

This was our first time renting a cottage. It was a great experience. The cottage is in a beautiul location. Swimming is great once you get past the rock bottom, bring your water shoes. The cottage itself, is immaculate and offers anything and everything you need or want on your holiday. It is very private and peaceful. There are unique local attractions and you are never far from a trail or conservation area. The neighbours are very friendly and so are the dogs! The sunsets are breathtaking.

Cottage was clean, filled with beautiful antiques and decor. Comfortable deck overlooking the water and sheltered from offshore breezes. On nice evenings sat out and watched the sunsets. Best event was the evening bonfire by the water and looking at the stars. Quiet neighbourhood. Bike riding in the area was great-good area trails!
Tom Thompson museum was great too. Fishing was a disappointment however, -didn't catch the big one(not much action in August). Cottage was very much enjoyed by my elderly parents and water was clean, clear and warm! Highly recommended.
