This house is unique in being within such easy access of the Oxford City centre. It is literally 5 minutes walk from the Ashmolean Museum, and all the other attractions that Oxford has to offer. It is on the Oxford Canal in a buzzy part of Oxford near restaurants and clubs, yet only a short walk up the canal towpath to Port Meadow. It is genuinely city centre, and it is very rare to find a self-catering property this central available for short lets of less than a week.
Ideally my minimum let is 2 nights and that incurs a surcharge. 3 or more are the normal rate; weekends are a premium.
I have 2 further properties in the heart of Jericho which are available for short lets so it is worth enquiring if this house is booked. The one sleeps 4/5, the other 5/7 using an extra futon mattress.
Upper Fisher Row offers accommodation for 6 or more. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 double, a twin and a single, and also a sofabed for overflows but the house is not large! It has a lovely west facing garden, and is an easy walk from both the bus and the train stations, so no car necessary. The house is located just off Hythe Bridge Street.
If you are a keen runner, you are just on the Towpath, so can run north and be on Port Meadow in less than 10 minutes.
The house has a bathroom with shower over, and a separate shower room on the ground floor, washer and dryer and is wifi.
Oxford has a Literary Festival in March, Alumni Weekend in September and all year there are things going on at the museums and theatres. Access by bus and train is simple to the Cotswolds, Woodstock with Blenheim Palace and Stratford, and if you book train tickets in advance from Firstgreatwestern, they are much cheaper so you can be in London within an hour. Oxford has its own information website called dailyinfo.co.uk which is a great place to find out what is happening.
The house has been very popular for family reunions, weddings, academics attending conferences, and holidays. There are nice playgrounds and parks in Oxford and fun places to eat and shop. The Covered Market is unique and sells fresh fruit, meat, fish and so on all under cover. I have 2 further properties in the heart of Jericho and sometimes these houses might be available for dates where this one is booked.
The Anchor Inn on Hayfield road, and the Oxford Retreat are 2 favourite eateries as well as Edamame on Holywell Street for a unique Japanese restaurant and the acclaimed Rickety Press in Jericho, or Sojo round the corner, on Hythe Bridge Street. Al Shami is a very popular Lebanese restaurant in Jericho, about 5 mins walk, on Nelson Street.
Please email me for more information/advice, as I love welcoming people to Oxford.
Upper Fisher Row is strictly non smoking and there is NO PARKING available with this rental. You can arrive by train/bus and walk everywhere.
Rickshaw tours are a cool way to see the city but you need to book in advance, or use them for a wedding or other event. A great way to get to the punting station on the Cherwell.

This house is in a truly brilliant location. It was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious for a mid-terrace. It was much nicer (and better value) for a group of 6 friends than a hotel would have been. Everything worked well; the beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and the showers hot!
Pandora was helpful and informative, and we felt really at home. We'll definitely be coming again.

We had a fantastic time at this cottage on a hen weekend that I organised for a friend. The cottage is an ideal size for 7 people and is cosy and well decorated. It is also walking distance to anything you could want to do in Oxford which was so convenient for us. Pandora is very welcoming and made sure everything was ready for us - plus she was relaxed and accommodating about our earlier arrival time.
The only thing that could be improved is the parking - while Pandora was really helpful in organising for us to park one of our cars near to her house which is about a 10 minute walk away, there is no closer parking and all street parking is £10 per day. That is something to bear in mind for those who would want to avoid too much walking.

This property is a very spacious property right in the centre of Oxford, literally only a few minutes walk to most of the main attractions. The property itself is a tall Victorian (I presume) townhouse, and is certainly very quaint. The property was well furnished, perfectly clean, very comfortable and included a very well stocked book case!
It's hard to imagine somewhere better to stay in the middle of Oxford!

Extended family, 6 adults, 5 year old, 3 year old, and 2 babies stayed in Oxford. Had fantastic weekend visiting our sister at Uni. House is centrally located within a few minutes walk from the train station. House very comfortable, everyone had a fab stay.
I am so glad they had a lovely weekend, the weather was not very forgiving, but that is out of my control!

This stay involving 7 family members came at the end of a 7 day boating trip up the Thames from Chertsey-Staines to Benton. The apartment can just hold 7 people (3 floors, 2 bedrooms with double beds, 1 small room with a single bed, sofa in downstairs living room which makes up into a double bed and complete bathrooms on the first and second floors). The location couldn't possibly be better. About 1-2 blocks from the main bus station and rail station , in opposite directions, and easy walking distance from all of the colleges and museums. The building fronts on the canal which has a very nice walking path besides it. Our host rode her bicycle to the bus station to meet us and direct us to the apartment. She then gave us a run down on the apartment and recommended restaurants and sights for visiting which all turned out to be excellent. It didn't hurt that the weather was also fantastic during our stay.

The cottage is in the centre of Oxford, a quick walk from the railway station and really close to a range of excellent restaurants/bars. I have to say that the owner of the property Pandora provided an excellent service, from giving us a good rate for a last minute booking to posting to us for free some forgotton items. She was really helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The accomodation was reallly suited to us (6 girls), we had lots of space to move around in and all home comforts were there (tv/dvd/Wifi/well equipped kitchen) although we didn't spend that much time in the property since we were out and about in glorious Oxford. Great stay!

The house we perfect for our needs: lots of room, well-appointed kitchen, a sunny back garden, TV, dining room. It's only a five-minute walk from both the coach and train stations, and 10 minutes from the city centre, and is right on the canal, so walking to the north of town and Port Meadow is easy. The owner was friendly, and extremely helpful for all our needs. A big thumbs up!!

Excellent location (really central but also quiet as located in side street next to the river), lovely house and in very good condition. Had personal contact with the owner who is very friendly and helpful. We felt at home at once - nice little terrace attached to the house as well!

This propery was even better than we expected and in a fabulous location so that no one missed having their car. It was a home away from home and had everything we needed. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and her local knowledge made booking restaurants and organising a birthday cake very easy. I would recommend the ashmolean Museum, the anchor pub and the Oxon Carts rickshaw tours. We will be back.
I say minimum stay is 2 nights as I offer weekends but in the summer peak period from June to mid September I prefer a minimum of 7 nights so although the calendar might indicate you can book 2 nights, I reserve the right to decline. However, because i do NOT have a fixed arrival/dep day, i do get left with short periods, so it is always worth enquiring. 2 nights midweek could easily be accommodated between lets in the Summer, do just ask!
It is worth sending me an email if you have special requirements, or want a longer let and I will adjust the rent, but ideally this will be for more than 4 weeks.
The surcharge of £30 is applied for all stays midweek of 1 or 2 nights, and a single night at a weekend, if available within 2 weeks of arrival date, will incur a surcharge of £60 (so £390 for one night).
Paypal and Bank transfer fees to be paid by Guest and can be deducted from deposit as would parking permits if offered/taken up.
Additional fees may apply:
- 1 or 2 night stay | 30 GBP per day | Surcharge
/ night + / night + additional fees additional fees
