Our newest rental is in a very convenient location. Just 200 steps and your toes are in the sand of either the ocean or the bay! About a half mile North is Belmont Park with it's historical 1925 wooden roller coaster and Plunge, an indoor Olympic-size heated pool. Outside by the ocean is The WAVE, a man-made heated wave where you can eat lunch while you watch others try their skill at surfing or boogie boarding.... or try it yourself!
The light and airy living room has high ceilings, skylights and a gas fireplace. It's tastefully and comfortably furnished with a soft ultra-suede couch which doubles as a queen sofabed featuring a self-inflating air mattress. The California-style kitchen is open to the livingroom and has tile counter tops, Saltillo tile floors and natural wood cabinets. There is a large dining area with a lovely wooden table that expands with a built-in leaf to a table for 8 with 8 chairs, if you have guests for dinner. There is a soft "candle-light" chandelier above it. The downstairs bedroom has a pillow-top queen bed and flat-screen TV/DVD. The upstairs bedroom also has a queen bed and a large flatscreen TV that rotates out from the wall 90 degrees. The door opens out to a small balcony with a peek of the ocean. Just around the corner from the bed is a little people's loft area with a single day bed and a single pull out trundle bed. Each floor has a bathroom, a full bath/shower downstairs and a walk-in glass shower upstairs.
Prepare breakfast at home or go right downstairs to the pastry shop for a hot cinnamon bun before heading out for a fun day of sightseeing in San Diego. 2 mi to SeaWorld, 3 mi to Old Town and about 6-9 miles to the world famous Zoo, Balboa Park, the Gas Lamp district and Little Italy and the Embarcadero where you can see the floating museums, take a whale watching cruise or catch a ferry over to Coronado Island. Just 40 minutes North to Legoland or NE to the Wild Animal Safari Park. Or maybe just enjoy a day of riding bikes or walking on the boardwalk, strolling with your toes in the wet sand or just relaxing under an umbrella on the beach, less than a block away.
Cable Internet, WiFi and phone line with free nationwide long distance insures that you can keep in touch with work if necessary and there are three large flat-screen Cable TVs with DVD players attached to each one.
No searching for parking at the beach as this unit comes with it's own two car shared garage. There is an extra carport that will fit a small compact car. Extra large vehicles like Ford Expeditions may not fit in the garage but there is free overnight parking a few blocks away. Boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella and four shared beach cruiser bikes are in the storage area. There is a also a laundry room by the garage for your convenience. Everything you need to enjoy your vacation! Ask us about AC!

This condo suited our family well. Three of us stayed there while visiting our San Diego son and his partner. The open floor plan was perfect for all of us to hang out and share meals together. Outside living space is missing, but this wasn't a problem for us with the short December days and chilly nights. The beach is just a few steps away and that was great.
We enjoyed biking along the ocean as well as the bay and we could easily walk to restaurants and grocery stores.
I would say this place works best for 3 or 4 folks very comfortably. The daybed and trundle that comprise the additional sleeping area is awkwardly located in a loft adjacent to the upstairs bedroom--little privacy.
I'd recommend Pete's Mission Beach Getaway for sure!
"A really comfortable apartment in a great location near the beac"

We stayed here in June 2013. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well-appointed, and everything was exactly the way we expected it to be. Just so you know, it's up a steep flight of steps so it wouldn't really work for someone with disabilities. We had a minor issue with the plumbing shortly after we arrived, and Nancy's Vacation Rentals were really efficient to deal with and sorted things out for us quickly. The location was just great - literally yards from Mission Beach, a short walk in the other direction to the Bay, and within easy reach of restaurants, bars and anything we needed for our vacation. And we'd really recommend Baked, by the way - this bakery is right next to the apartment, and well worth a visit. We would happily recommend Pete's Mission Beach Getaway or stay there again.

I stayed in this rental and thought it was very good value, it was spotlessly clean and very well stocked with kitchen equipment the only niggle being some of the crockery was chipped but I understand that has now been resolved
The beach is a stones throw away and getting downtown and around was easy
Nancy's Vacation were exceptional in there handling of any enquires and they will be my first choice in any futer visits

A few steps away from both the boardwalk and the bay, this place was a perfect fit for our family, particularly with two little ones. Everything we needed was within walking distance in an area quite comfortable.
The apartment provided us with all that we needed for our holidays.
"Our stay was not only restful but exciting at the same time!"

The service provided during our stay was outstanding! There were a couple of issues that needed attending and someone from maintenance was dispatched immediately at resolved both items (refrigerator and ceiling fan).

Very close to beach, & Belmont park. plenty of room for 6, I do recommend a new vacuum, some dishes were chipped & I did cut myself washing a cup & more bath towels. Other than that everything was great! Nice & cozy!!!
"An almost ideal place to stay for a week or less"

I stayed with a group of three other people for around 6 days at Pete's Mission Beach Getaway. The place looks somewhat rundown on the outside, but that completely belies the interior. The rental was clean and shiny, very pleasant to stay in. The fact that it was roughly a five minute walk from the beach (with bicycles supplied) was also a definite plus. The only thing I had a problem with was the somewhat sluggish response with a car that was parked in our garage such that we could not get our own in. That is a minor complaint, however. This is a great place to stay assuming you will be in San Diego for one week or less. It may get a bit uncomfortable after that.
