Description from the manager
* Property Type: Condo
* Sq. Ft.: 650
Ocean Beach, San Diego, California
The twin-island Caribbean nation of TRINIDAD and TOBAGO is the inspiration for Villa Caribe’s two second-story one bedroom suites, both with spectacular ocean views from the living rooms. The Tobago is a 650 sq ft., one bedroom suite and accommodates up to four people with a Cal-King bed in the bedroom and a queen-size sofa sleeper with an upgraded gel-infused memory foam mattress (4/2014) in the living room. The Tobago boasts a fully equipped kitchen, free washer and dryer in garage, and garage parking for one car. This is a pet friendly property. there are three beach cruiser bicycles in the garage to ride on the ocean boardwalk or OB bike path. They are shared, on a first-come-first-served basis.
Regarding Villa Caribe's location: Three blocks to your left you'll find Sunset Cliffs Nature Park - a great place to spend the day exploring cliffs, caves, and tide pools!
Directly in front of you lies a spacious patio area – with a convenient gas BBQ, a small sandy “beach” area we created to enjoy cocktails and the breathtaking views of the sunset - and, of course, miles and miles of deep blue ocean where we often see migrating whales, playful pods of dolphins and adventurous surfers.
We are located on a small cliff overlooking an enchanting, rocky, tide pool-explorer's beach (and surfing area!). Enjoy unmatched ocean views from the property or head down to the beach - just a short 1/2 block walk away! ASK if this unit has AC!
A few blocks to your right is the casual seaside town of Ocean Beach. Stroll along Newport Avenue and take in the array of small shops and boutiques. From antiques to surfboards, sandwich shops to ocean-front fine dining – and bars and taverns in between – Ocean Beach is friendly, informal, and fun!
In the evening, enjoy cocktails while listening to the surf, or take a romantic stroll on the famous Ocean Beach pier, and enjoy the lights of San Diego from the over-water restaurant.
Be sure to catch the fireworks display from Sea World - only 10 minutes away! Return home to your ocean-front, cliff-side hideaway, enjoy some wine with a loved one, and listen to the waves crash on the beach. Paradise!
Villa Caribe is also close to all San Diego has to offer: 30 seconds from a rocky beach-explorer’s playground (beach access is a short walk around the block), 2 minutes to the heart of Ocean Beach, 6 minutes to the charming village of old Pt. Loma, with its shops, restaurants and the San Diego Yacht Club, 10 minutes to Sea World, Old Town, the Gas Lamp District, the airport, shopping at Fashion Valley Mall, 15 minutes to the World Famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park, and about 30 minutes to Legoland and the Wild Animal Park.

This place was perfect for a 7 night stay with my wife and son. It was clean, and equipped with everything we needed from the bathroom to the kitchen. My son said the sleeper sofa was one of the most comfortable beds he had slept in. Nice view of the Pacific from the dining table. We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves every night. The location was very convenient. It was minutes from the airport, seaworld, mission beach, zoo, Balboa, etc.... Biked to Ocean Beach one morning to get Breakfast burritos, and they were still nice and hot after the short ride back to the apartment. Nancy's was very gracious with a couple of requests we had made. It was a pleasure dealing with them.
The garage is a little snug. I would recommend driving nothing larger than a standard sized car if you have the option.
I would not hesitate to rent this property, or to do business with Nancy's again. Read more
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and hope to have you as guests again on future trips to San Diego! Best, The NVR Team

"laid back relaxation in Ocean Beach"

Our experience at the property was a good one. We had access to the water, views of the sunsets and we could hear the ocean through all windows. The grounds were well kept and the amenities were fully operational like the hot tub and barbecue.
The condo itself was decent enough. Nothing glamorous however it was a good fit for the laid back feel of Ocean Beach. Everything worked well like the shower and dishwasher and everything was clean. The one thing I would complain about would be the garage. They mention the dimensions however they don't come out and tell you that a standard SUV is a very tight fit. And of you can't park in the garage you will be forced to park on the street in the surrounding area which can be challenging.

This is our 2ND time saying at this property and I have already booked for 2 more stays. We love the town, the neighbors and of course the condo overlooking the Ocean! We come for 2 months at a time and the house is nicely furnished and equipped for our stay. It is always clean, tidy and welcoming. The condo is well stocked with basic supplies and laundry and garage are an asset. We walk every day on the Sunset Cliffs and go to the Farmers Market every Wednesday great fun. Ob is an old hippie hangout and we love it!

Check in was easy (but lots of codes!). The location was great. A bit of a walk to the heart of Ocean Beach, but we didn't mind. The view is right over the ocean. But, the plexiglass fence was dirty which made the view not as beautiful as it should have been. The outdoor space needed some upgrades. 2 of the 4 lounge chairs were broken. Half the chairs for the tables were broken. The gas grill needed to be started with a match (but it did work after that). The hot tub had tape over one of the jets to keep the water from squirting out. That said, the condo itself was very clean and almost perfect for us (a couple + dog). The TVs were at least 20 years old we didn't mind since we weren't there to watch TV. One of the bedroom windows was broken (and had been since December according to the handyman). They unfortunately couldn't fix it while we were there. The disrepair of the outdoor equipment, outdated TVs, broken window gives the appearance the owners don't care to upgrade the place. If the outdoor equipment were in better shape I'd give Tobago a 4 or 5 star. Becky at Nancy's was great. I would definitely stay at a Nancy's place again based on Becky's service.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Tobago. The views of the ocean and the sunset were phenomenal. The location was very central to all San Diego tourist attractions, while still basically oceanfront in the Ocean Bbeach/sunset cliffs area. A relatively famous surf break for the area is right out front which proved for good fun when the waves were there.
The home itself was decorated nicely, had an amazingly comfortable bed, and all amenities you could want, including bikes that could be used.
