Welcome to “Seaside Sanctuary in the Pines”!
**For more details about specials for this home, see the Sanctuary Vacation Rentals website or call our office directly.
Just a hop, skip and a jump from the beach, this light-filled family home in Pacific Grove echoes the seashore theme in its interior, with soothing blues, aquas, driftwood grays and browns. The 4-bedroom, 2-bath house offers plenty of flexibility for families and pet owners, with a large fenced yard for both kids and dogs, and plenty of sleeping areas that will accommodate up to 9 adults and 2 small children.
From here, you can walk to Asilomar State Park and beach in just a few minutes. Also nearby is the incomparable 17-Mile Drive and the shops, golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach, and it’s also close to Pacific Grove’s quaint downtown area, full of boutiques, art galleries and antique shops. Cannery Row, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and historic downtown Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea are just minutes away by car.
The sense of relaxation starts as soon as you see the walkway edged in lavender that leads to the front door. Within, the sense of gracious living is enhanced by spacious open-beam ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, and a top-of-the-line kitchen with granite countertops.
French doors lead from the living room to an enormous backyard bordered in moss-covered Monterey pines, a place to relax and unwind while barbecuing on the gas grill, enjoying the sunshine on the patio, or gathering around the firepit in the evenings for drinks and marshmallow roasts.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine or sparkling cider, passes to the renown Spa on the Plaza in downtown Monterey, tickets for a wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards’ tasting room in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and a basket of local information. An assigned concierge vacation house manager is available to assist you during your stay. We have also provided spa amenities in the bathrooms, plush spa bathrobes, oversized towels and beach gear.
The house offers an open floor plan with kitchen, dining room and living combined in a great room area, making it an ideal gathering place for meals and entertaining. But when privacy is needed, it can be found in the three bedrooms down the hall and a large dormer 4th bedroom upstairs.
The interior décor emphasizes seashore and sea life motifs in the color palette of the nearby beaches. The living room’s gas-burning stone fireplace is a focal point for get-togethers, and the dining room’s wooden table and Kubu woven chairs seats six-eight. From the kitchen, with antique white cabinets and new stainless steel appliances, it’s easy to see what’s going on in the living room and dining room, and be part of the action even as you’re preparing meals.
Three bedrooms down the hall and another on the upper level offer lots of sleeping options for friends and family. All four have king beds with memory foam topper that can be converted to twins sleeping 8 singles or 4 couples. In addition, the upper level 4th bedroom has a day couch that can be made up as a twin bed, and the living room includes a queen sleeper sofa.
A shared full bath is available from the hallway, and another full bath is attached to the master bedroom, both with white tile floors and gray marble countertops. The master bath has a shower, double vanity, and separate tilting mirrors over each sink. The shared bath offers a shower over tub combo and a large mirror over the vanity.

"Cheerful, light-filled, pet-friendly home close to the beach"
Left on 07/08/2014 for a stay in July 2014 | Karin EReviewed Jul 8, 2014Stayed Jul 2014
We recently met up with our grown kids and their partners and one very happy doggie at this beautiful home. What a great place to vacation for the July Fourth extended weekend! The kitchen had everything we needed to whip up our own meals, and we enjoyed our time in the large backyard, especially relaxing by the fire pit. There was room for everyone to spread out, and when we wanted to explore the beach, we just grabbed some of the mats, chairs, and even a bright beach umbrella from the garage and walked the 5 blocks or so to Asilomar. The only thing that could have made it more perfect was to have the place for another week!
