PAGOSA SPRINGS ATTRACTIONS
If you have never visited Pagosa Springs, then you will be delighted when you "discover" this town and surrounding area. Still small-town, but offering what more developed mountain vacation areas offer - more than anything else - Pagosa is beautiful and tranquil, friendly and unforgettable.
PAGOSA SPRINGS has the quiet pleasures of the past plus every mountain activity imaginable. For living the western life, you cannot top this Rocky Mountain town. Pagosa is not like glitzy Aspen, thank goodness! The rural ranching feeling and friendliness is still here. Pagosa signifies "healing waters" in the native language and located right downtown are the wonderfully soothing hot springs. Pleasantly landscaped, natural, outdoor pools line the river downtown (only a five-minute drive) and are a welcoming end to a perfect day of outdoor activity.
There are hot-air balloon events in the winter and spring, rodeos, and seasonal local festivities. Consult the Pagosa or Wolf Creek website for more information.
It is all here in Pagosa. Look at the town of Pagosa Springs website.

Additional Location Information
Located in the pines on a slope, offering beautiful views of the San Juans. A great location all year 'round, 3 miles west of town and 2 miles east of Fairfield, one mile or so off of 160 (no noise from the highway) a nice walk to town or easy drive; all shopping nearby at Fairfield , 5 minutes by car to both town and Fairfield. Our home is quiet, secluded, surrounded by pines. Easy access, no chains required in winter, but snow tires are advisable or 4-wheel drive when the roads are snow packed.
We use snow tires in winter and we expect that you would too. The road clearing is good and timely, but there are 2 hills going towards town, and a long one from the highway. Areas can be slick. Anyone staying in the Pagosa area really must have snow tires to get around comfortably.

My wife and I wanted a long weekend in the mountains over Thanksgiving, and wanted to explore the snowshoeing trails, Wolf Creek ski area, and the shopping, restuarants and hot springs nearby Pagosa Springs. This cabin was perfect for the two of us, and had plenty of space probably for another couple or 2-3 kids. Its fully furnished, so we made a lot meals at the cabin and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Loved having my coffee and enjoying the sunrise and amazing views off to the east. The fireplace was cozy, and we spent each night in front of the fire with a DVD or just relaxing with a good book.
We bought a week long pass to The Springs hot spring resort, which is right downtown and about a 5 minute drive from the cabin, and we highly recommend this to anyone who is visiting, very relaxing and several different pools with various temperatures, and cool views of the San Juan river.
If you want quaint, affordable, quiet and cozy - this is perfect.
Thanks Christy for the great place to stay - we will be back!

My family and I rented this cabin in the winter for skiing at Wolfcreek. When we came in tired from long day of skiing this quaint comfortable cabin welcomed you. The view of the San Juan mountains from the large living room windows was gorgeous. It has everything you need and was very clean. It was perfectly located a few miles from town on a quite wooded lot. Our family had a very enjoyable stay.
Thank you so much for your review Sharla, we are pleased that you chose our home for your stay and we hope that you will return. We love our home and are happy that others enjoy it too. Thanks!

The house was very nice and had everything we needed, except our groceries and personal items. We did not care for the cable on TV because it was very difficult to change channels and get back where you had been before.
thank you for your review. We will see what can be done about the cable, I am not a TV watcher so it is hard to know if it is working properly or not, thanks.
“A great place”

We have stayed twice at this home, for a total of six weeks. It is a beautiful home with aspen paneling in the the great room, dining room and loft. The fireplace is a cozy addition that will warm you on a cold winter night. It is conveniently located about a mile from downtown Pagosa Springs and about 30 minutes from Wolf Creek Ski area. An hour you are in Durango or Del Norte, Colorado, or Chama or Dolce, New Mexico. Beautifully located on a secluded wooded lot with your own herd of 12 deer that feed in the area below. Definititely worth it!

It was winter, and it was a beautiful setting with nearby shops for everything. The fireplace worked perfectly and was always a special treat. The kitchen was easy to use with all the bells & whistles. It was the most relaxing, enjoyable, trouble free vacation in years.
