This lovely vacation rental is a perfect place to call home during your vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii. Located in the district of Puna, and nestled on 27 acres overlooking the coastline. Near old Pahoa town, and close to the viewing area of the worlds most active volcano. just a 10 min drive to Kehena black sand beach, (clothing optional), where if you are lucky you can swim with the spinner dolphins, 15 minute drive to “Ahalanui Beach Park” (a naturally warmed 95 degree ocean tidepool) a wonderful place to begin or end your day, as well as Wai Opae Conservation tide-pools in Kapoho where you will find some of the best swimming and snorkeling that can be found in Hawaii. 50 minutes from Volcano National Park, 35 minutes from Hilo airport, and 12 minutes from the quaint village of Pahoa, which dates back to the 1800’s. Some of the best dining can be found in Pahoa town with Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Italian, Tex-Mex and local Hawaiian. Old Hilo town is a must visit with its colorful farmer's markets, shopping, interesting museums which tell all about it's history.
DIRECTIONS TO HOME: 13-952 Kamaili Street
From Hilo travel South on Hwy. 11 toward the town of Keauu, and turn left at the signal onto hwy 130. Drive South on 130 towards the town of Pahoa. Moblie phone service is strong near Pahoa and fades as you continue South. Continue through the traffic signal toward Kalapana. About 4 miles look for mile marker 15 and shortly after turn left onto Kamaili Road towards Opihikao. Proceed down the hill 1 mile, and on the left side of street is a long rock wall with palms lining the front. The address is posted on the phone pole next to entrance to driveway. Turn left at the CENTER of rock wall into grass driveway, and proceed up driveway about 1/2 mile to the house.
