Location : Silver Oaks is located in beautiful Palampur, in the Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh - the mountain state.

It is 3 km from Palampur town in a rustic setting, in the countryside. You drive through 2.5 km of Tea Gardens to get to Silver Oaks. It stands on the cliff edge of the Bundla Chasm, overlooking a forest park and a boating lake…on the river bed… alongside the Neugal Khad (river) in the chasm. It’s a beautiful walk through the pine forest. The children would love to play in the river whose water is clean enough to drink.

Silver Oaks is set amidst the snowcapped Dhauladhar Mountains, tea gardens, terraced green fields and pine forests, with gurgling streams cascading through the grounds.

It lies about 35 km from Kangra Airport, and 115 km from Pathankot Airport.

Palampur is a convenient base camp for excursions nearby. There are many interesting places to visit within 50 km radius around Palampur.

Rooms : The mountain retreat has double bedrooms

Dining : The retreat is operated as a Home Stay….. breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Advance intimation for meals helps. Room service is also available.

Facilities : include: attached bath, some with bath tubs; 24-hr running hot & cold water; TV channels on cable; filtered drinking water; and room service (7 AM to 11.00 PM). Car parking.

Business : Meeting hall can accommodate up to 30 persons.

Recreational - Nature walks, short and long treks through Tea Gardens, the riverbed and in the mountains, local cuisine and cultural experience , Jeep Safari, picnics , lunch and dinner in rural settings in beautiful spots in the higher hills , all kinds of special interest trips, all arranged with local experts on request.

We facilitate parasailing experience at Bir , Beeling near Palampur.

Palampur is a very attractive destination – it offers a lot more than most other hill stations – it is a scenic clean town , no crowds , no water problems , no parking problems , gentle slopes , clean environment , comfortable climate throughout the year , winter days are generally sunny and comfortable , wonderful in the monsoons – it doesn't rain all the time , no hassles .... a cool holiday destination any time of the year.

From Palampur you could explore the Kangra Valley.

Climate: Silver Oaks is located at a higher altitude than Palampur town.

At our location we have a moderate climate, with summer day temperatures ranging between 26° and 32° C. The evenings are very cool at 15° to 22° C. Our location is 4 to 8° cooler than Palampur town in the summers

. In winter it rarely goes below freezing. During the day, its sunny and is warmer than in the plains… between 18° to 25° C.

Summer monsoon (30 June to15 Sep ) is heavy, though a very attractive period. It doesn't rain all the time.

We have comfortable – livable – mild weather conditions throughout the year – excellent weather for people who don’t like extreme weather conditions. Summer : 15°C - 32°C . Winter : 4°C - 25°C.
