Marais Magic was recommended by dear friends who visited Paris earlier this year for their 5th wedding anniversary. It was their first time renting an apartment and they could not say enough wonderful things. We jumped on the chance to rent the apartment for our first visit to Paris over Thanksgiving. The fresh flowers, cheese plate and fresh fruit were the perfect touch to a perfectly appointed apartment. The location couldn't have been better - bistros, bars, cafés and boulangerie just around the corner. We will remember our time there fondly and look forward to returning soon!
Merci for your review! We are happy to hear you felt at home in Paris in this apartment. It's what we strive for. Looking forward to bringing you back!

Small but comfortable home base in Paris

We stayed in this apartment for five nights and found it comfortable for three people. The apartment manager emailed us to confirm our meeting time. Directions for accessing the apartment were clear and we had no problem following them. The young woman who met us seemed very nice, but spoke very little English. We managed to understand most of what she was saying via gestures and the occasional word, but there were a few things later that we wish we had had clearer answers to. In any case, the manager was responsive to any inquiries via email. The apartment itself is two flights up a narrow spiral staircase. It was a little challenging with suitcases, but not bad. The living area had a sofa bed that was comfortable, the bedroom had twin beds pushed together, which were comfortable, but sloped slightly downhill at the head. Bathroom had a lovely deep-soaking tub and largish shower and sink and plenty of storage. Never did figure out how to turn on the heated towel rack. Separate water closet with toilet and small sink was narrow, but adequate. The kitchen was fully equipped, including a Nespresso machine, a godsend in the morning. The washing machine and dryer (separate machines) worked well, especially for americans who have never figured out the combo machines. There was a closet in the entry that was suitable for holding a couple of suitcases and hanging clothes, plus storage for clothes in the cupboards in the bedroom. Other amenities--robes, extra towels and washclothes (nice and thick), ironing board/iron, shopping pull cart and tote bag, juice press, wifi, free phonecalls to landlines in the us (a bit difficult to figure out at first), shampoo/body wash, a few English channels on the TV. View overlooked inner courtyard and rooftops, not street-side, so quiet enough to have windows open at night. Lamps on the floor in the living room with no bulbs though?? Near the Filles du Calvaire metro stop. Hint--electronic key also opens outer and inner public doors. Read more

My husband and I came to Paris for a romantic vacation and the apartment was everything we'd hoped for! The location was perfect for us - cool, young and fun and away from the touristy areas. It was clean and cozy, and had everything we needed. The only issue we had while there was that the wifi was down for a couple days, but the manager eventually fixed it. Overall, the stay was so much better than a hotel! We would definitely stay here again. Read more

We enjoyed our apartment stay in Marais very much. The apartment was close to a delightful boulangerie and excellent restaurants. We were met at the the apartment and given a tour of the lodging. It was comfortable and a different vacation experience than staying at a hotel. We might suggest a couple of enhancements: 1. crisp, fresh bed and bath linens; 2. an insider's guide to the Marais -- we felt that we had a sense of the neighborhood just as we were concluding our visit. With a couple of adjustments, this would have been a perfect stay for us and our six-year-old daughter. Read more
Merci for this review. We enjoy the nearby restaurants, too. We hope you return to Paris soon.

We had a great trip to Paris with our daughters ages 7 and 10. We landed in Paris a bit early and called the owners who graciously met us early at the apartment. Such a nice couple... we loved the stocked fridge, wine and fruit!! The apartment is precious, well decorated and a good size for our family of four. The bed was comfortable and the apartment is very quiet.
Downside for us was the location. The closest Metro stops are many blocks away and after wandering around Paris all day and into the night, we always found it difficult to find our way back to the apartment. I'm sure if you choose to taxi around this would not be an issue. With kids, I would suggest researching and staying very close to a metro stop.
1.The taqueria next door always had a huge crowd, but we never got to try it. Wish we had!!
2.Try the crepes from alain in the Le Marche des Enfants Rouges a block or so down the street- amazing!!!
3. Bakery steps away from the apartment
4. The owners- couldn't have been more courteous and helpful (helped us order arrange a car to the airport).
We loved Paris!

The apartment is well-equipped and well-maintained, in a great location -- just a two-minute walk from boulangeries, supermarkets, an open-air market, restaurants, a pharmacy, etc.; a five-minute walk to the closest metro station. A good size apartment for couples or small families in a quiet, clean building. The owners were very responsive and helpful. They provided us with a warm welcome, with a fresh cheese plate, fruit, and a fridge stocked with milk, yogurt and eggs. We would definitely stay in this apartment again. Read more

I had an absolutely fabulous time in this apt! The location couldn't have been better for my Paris wanderings, great shopping in the Marais, food and a real "local" experience!! The place is very posh, and safe and even came stocked with everything I needed! The hospitality was unbelievably great! I would definitely return to this apt again the next time I journey to Paris.

We spent a terrific week in Paris. The apartment was beautiful, clean and incredibly comfortable. It had everything we could need and the welcome fruit, cheese and champagne was a lovely touch. We enjoyed the neighborhood and found it very convenient to walk everywhere and incredibly safe. Would absolutely stay there again on a future visit to Paris.

We had a great experience with CobbleStay! Due to weather, our plane arrived two hours later than scheduled. We contacted CobbleStay and they notified the landlord. When we arrived, we were greated by two delightful ladies who welcomed us with chilled champage, a platter of fruit, cheese and a baguette of french bread. After providing a very thorough overview of the apartment, they gave us a list of contact names and numbers in case we needed anything.
This place has a decorators touch with beautiful drapes, pretty chandeliers and a great kitchen. The bathroom included a nice soaking tub, which will accomodate one small to medium sized person. The landlord took extreme care to insure the apartment had all of the accomodations one would expect from a hotel. Another reviewer commented that end tables would be helpful in the living room. I agree.
The apartment is located on the 3rd floor (which is considered the 2nd floor in Paris) of an older 6 story building. It has all of the unique, charming characteristics one would expect. The building was not sound proof, but it was generally very quiet, even though it was New Year's Eve. In the bedroom, the floor slopes slightly toward the head of the bed, which gave us the amusing sensation that we were laying upside down. So, we simply moved the pillows to the other end of the bed! Worked out just fine.
The neighborhood was close and convenient to several local bistros, shops, banks, pharmacies. We had a choice of several closely located metro stations, which was our primary source of transportation.
The landlord was enormously kind and accomodating of our very rudimentary French language skills. He called and made the taxi pick up arrangements on our behalf so we could insure a timely ride to the airport for our departure flight.
All in all, when we return to Paris, we will definitey stay here again.

We stayed in this apartment in the high season with our family of four (two adults, two children, ages 2 and 7).
On the upside, the apartment has a great location. It is a very nice neighborhood near lots of shops and cafes. It is also near a very child-friendly park and a grocery store. The apartment was stocked with a some fruit, bread, cheese and drinks. We appreciated that. A representative of the owner was waiting for us. She spoke no English, but was friendly. We managed with our broken French. If you know no French you might be frustrated by the lack of directions for the washer, dryer, etc...Also on the plus side, the apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the metro, and a 10-15 minute walk to the Place Vendome. It also had a nice shower and bath.
On the down side, the apartment is absolutely not suitable for more than 2 people. Maybe 3 if you don't mind being cramped. It was really crowded for our family of four. The table can only seat two people, so two of us always stood or we ate in shifts. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, and there was almost no storage in the entire apartment, so our suitcases were out in the middle of the floor. While nicely decorated, it was totally misrepresented in the listing, which made it sound like it was comfortable for 4. Also, on the last day we asked the owner to call a taxi for us and the taxi never showed. I don't know whose fault it was, but we had to take our kids and luggage on a bus. It was painful.
I would recommend this place for a couple traveling without children who don't mind paying top dollar to be in the lovely Marais area of Paris. Other than that, don't bother.
Wonderful area, quiet and very safe. Nice street with a patisserie nearby as well as lots of cafes & art galleries. Great little apartment! Kitchen had food to get us started and we had to buy our own Nespresso machine when we returned home. Nice size for the 2 of us with a lovely bathroom (nice to have the powder room too). The only downside was that there was no view but I would definitely stay there again! Very thankful for the option of the early check in. Cobblestay was easy to deal with.

My wife and I just got back from our first visit to Paris which was greatly enhanced by our stay at the Marais Magic, Cobblestay #24. Our apartment was a perfect size and very accomodating(could have used a couple of end tables at either side of the couch). The location was great and really made us feel like we were part of the Parisienne Landscape and not just tourists from across the Pond.

The apartment was in a good area. It was beautiful with a lovely shower although a little small. We were VERY appreciative of the fruit, champagne, espresso, etc. that was waiting for us upon our arrival!! Thanks! We would stay there again for sure if the price is the same.
