Les Batignolles: Nature, Art and a Village-like Spirit
This newly redecorated two-bedroom flat hosts six in comfort and style in the charming Batignolles neighborhood – well documented in the late 1800’s by French impressionist Édouard Manet, who painted many memorable scenes of its bustling café life.
Perfect for a family or group of friends seeking a slice of Parisian life outside the traditional tourist areas, this apartment – located in a 19th century building – is surrounded by lively cafés, markets, shops and patisseries … yet well insulated, quiet and sublime behind its many shuttered third-floor windows.
With high ceilings, lovely, herringbone hardwood floors and original turn of the century molding throughout, this spacious, well lit gem features a central floor plan – and all rooms are situated just off the apartment’s entryway. Whether you gather in the living room with family and friends to enjoy traditional French pastries and coffee, or pass the evening with board games, conversation and cocktails, you’ll thoroughly appreciate this apartment for its wonderful use of light and space. The two large bedrooms tastefully decorated with a modern eye for quiet and comfort, along with a queen sofa bed in the living room can accommodate up to six people. The fabulously and unusually tiled bathroom is its own work of art, with extra large tub and separate WC. Featuring a fully equipped, modern kitchen, and ample storage space, this apartment sets the standard for the Batignolles.

Additional Location Information
Wander down through the lovely tree-lined neighborhood streets to experience the best of this vivacious neighborhood, including the expansive Square des Batignolles, covering 16,615 square meters of land (four acres or 1.66 hectares), the largest green space in the 17th arrondissement; terrific for children, or quiet evening strolls. This English style garden is complete with a cave, a waterfall and a river!
The area is extremely dynamic as far as ecology and arts go: between the rue de Legendre, the rue des Batignolles and the avenue de Clichy, there are more than fifteen galleries and workshops! Paris-Ateliers Adac (61 rue de Legendre) is specializes in the restoration of old paintings. The gallery, Antigravité, (n° 80) exhibits jewellry, paintings and photography. The decorative spirit also has a place on this street; with interior decorator Aleth Vignon (n° 98) working with vegetal fibers, and the Japanese influenced shop Home Trotter (n° 77).
Need to catch your breath after all this beauty? Make a quick stop at the restaurant-bar Les Puces des Batignolles for a terrific weekend brunch or wine on a string (the bottle is opened before you, but you only pay for what you drink). At the crossroads of the rue Nollet, take a sharp right to find the Atelier Nollet and the Galerie Espace (n°1 & 1 ter) and the Madar Décors workshop (n° 4). In the evening, these well-known or unknown addresses are home to the local crowds and bring an authentic feeling to the area.

I had submitted many questions and emails with José and all were replied to promptly and efficiently! There were no surprises when we arrived and we were warmly greeted by Chris. Chris spent a good amount of time to go through all of the details about the apartment and made sure that we were able to figure out how to get in and out with the keys.
The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had some basics such as spices, sugar and coffee. Grocery stores and fresh food markets were within easy walking distance and there is an awesome patiserie right across the street! They had a list of important phone numbers (police, ambulance...) and a binder with great advice on what to do during our stay. The apartment is a little too far to be able to walk to most of the main attractions, but if you can figure out the Metro system, the Metro is only two blocks away.
The only annoying thing was that there happened to be 2 light-bulbs that burned out during our short stay. Fortunately the store next to the building had some for sale.

We enjoyed our stay at Batignolles and the 17th arrondisement. The apartment was well-equipped and comfortable. The metro was coveniently located one block away and a short ride from many of the attractions. There are many restaurants nearby (French and ethnic), as well as supermarkets, patisseries and cheese shops. The only negative was that the front bedroom faced the street and was a bit noisy. Still, I would highly recommend the apartment and would definitely stay there again.

We arrived in Paris on a Friday evening. We called to say we had arrived from the train station. We were graciously met at the door on arrival by Baltazar. He took us through every part of the beautifully appointed apartment showing us how everything worked. I stayed there with my five teen/young adult neices for four nights. On entering the apartment it was just as I imagined a quintessential Paris home! It was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Everything one needed was there and for six people we did not get in each other's way. It was very accessible to public transportation, exactly as needed and promised. The location was perfect, in a true Paris neighborhood. We stayed in 5 apartments during our trip to Europe, this was definately the best! And and elevator! A godsend after a full day of walking. The owners were extremely easy and nice to work with. Loved it all!

On our recent visit to Paris my mother and I decided that it would be much nicer to rent an appartment for the week instead of being stuck in a hotel. There were four of us women- my 82 year old mother, a young cousin, a family friend and myself. We were so pleased with all the help that Jose gave us when we were looking into the rental of this property. He answered all my many questions and was very prompt with his replies. The appartment was just as described and pictured on the web site, actually we were all very pleasantly surprised at how really lovely it was - there were no pictures of the beautiful ceilings, very nice elevator, and the lovely hard wood floors. The appartment was very comfortable - the beds were great and there was additiional pillows and blankets if we needed them. The living room/dining room was a great place to relax, visit and write in our journals. We did have a bit of trouble with the tv, but we are all technically challenged...The kitchen was fun to cook in - we even had a dinner party for friends! The neighborhood is great - shops are acrossed the street and very easy to get to. There is a Metro stop a block away and bus service around the corner - very easy to get around Paris from the appartment. When we arrived Baltazar (Paris agent) met us and showed us all around the appartment - that was really a nice touch! All in all we loved our little Paris home and are ready to return!
Our only disclaimer would be that it was difficult for my mother to use the shower/bathtub - in France the tub sides are very high and she was very nervous about getting in and out of the tub - maybe some grab bars?? Anyway we would return again to this property and really enjoyed dealing with Baltazar and Jose.
We thank you for the wonderful testimonial and thank you for your input on the wonderful solution of handles. We are currently working on getting something done with this issue. We are very glad you had a wonderful time and we look forward to accommodating you in the future.

We stayed at the apartment for 4 nights and had the most pleasant stay. Being a group of 5 adults we were a little worried about being cramped but we had enough space and was just perfect. The nearby park is a must on a sunny day and really sets the tone of Paris, if you cross through the park you can enjoy wonderful little markets and corner cafes. If you're used to taking the metro you'll have no problems, there is also a taxi rank near by and i think we paid around €10 to get to the city centre and around €30 for 2 of us to get to the airport. The only problem we had was with the bathroom door proving a little difficult to open once closed. Other than that the apartment was very clean and in great condition and the staff we also very welcoming and helpful on arrival and departure. The listing photos and description are really very accurate and we were very happy with our choice.

We stayed in this apartment in Paris for 5 days. It was perfect and so comfortable for our party of 4. The neighborhood is great with shops to find the perfect foods, pastries, wines and gifts! Metro is very close and easy to access many different parts of the city. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked.

We have stayed in the apartment twice and will be returning in May, 2011. The apartment is clean, comfortable and well furnished - also quiet. The front windows look out on Rue Brochant and the covered market, where you can find fresh produce, meat, fish, cheese and wine. We love the neighborhood. It makes as feel as though we actually live in Paris! There are fine boulangeries, patisseries, boucheries and shops nearby. The park just down the street is an oasis in the heart of the city with lovely plantings and many kinds of waterfowl - a great spot to sit on a bench and people watch or read. One metro stop is just down the street; others are nearby, and there is also regular bus service. Can't wait to return!
