In the lively 5th arrondissement, home to the Sorbonne and Luxembourg Gardens is a wonderful jewel of an apartment that awaits you as your home away from home. A five minute walk brings you to rue Mouffetard, one of the oldest market streets in Paris. Here you will find a wonderful mix of outdoor fresh food stands, food shops and wonderful restaurants.
The apartment is located closest to the Censier/Daubenton metro on line 7 and is within a 10 minute walk from the Port Royal stop on the RER B with direct trains from CDG and Orly Airports (Orly uses a shuttle train to transport passengers to the Antony stop where the RER B is available.)
Nestled on a quiet street, in a quiet interior courtyard, this lovely one bedroom apartment of 42 square meters (450 sq. feet) has all of the conveniences that any traveler could want. One of the first things you notice is how homey and welcoming the owners have made this apartment. That is because, unlike an apartment that has been furnished as a rental unit, the owners of this apartment live here several months a year. They have set it up and furnished it as they would like to live and you as their guests, reap the rewards.
Heated with gas heat, with unlimited hot water, the system’s remote control can be set to give you the perfect temperature for day or night comfort. The thermal insulated double paned windows and door to the garden are designed to help keep the apartment comfortable, no matter what the temperature. Large space saving radiators insure that heat is evenly and efficiently distributed in all rooms, making a visit in colder months as much a pleasure as the warmer months. In fact, with less crowds to deal with, staying here in the late fall and winter is a delightful way to experience a less crowded Paris. And now, in case the summer turns too warm for comfort, we offer a brand new, high-end air conditioner. Quiet and comfortable, this air conditioner allows you to set a comfortable temperature so you are cool inside.
Another wonderful thing about this apartment is its lovely private garden. Hedged all around, the space is a private little oasis in which to enjoy an afternoon drink or a pleasant meal. There is a wooden deck with a resin table which seats four comfortably or a smaller round bistro table for more intimate moments. The French door in the living room leads out to this wonderful added attraction.
A separate bedroom, with a large window looking out on your private garden is sunny and bright. Ample closet space, a comfortable double bed with comfy linens, a flat screen TV with BBC and CNN, a telephone with free calls to 139 countries, including the US, DSL WI-FI internet access, this apartment has it all.
The living room is spacious with a very comfortable double sized sofa bed, a drop leaf table which seats four comfortably, plenty of books to read and guide books to inform, a CD-collection for your listening pleasure, a radio/CD/cassette combination with great sound, an i-Pod speaker dock and a wonderful reading light.
In addition to the sofa, there are two incredibly comfortable Phillipe Starck designed chairs so four people can relax in comfort. The coffee table is on wheels and is very easy to maneuver to allow for the opening of the sofa bed. A dramatic glass and iron display unit contains wonderful pieces of glass and pottery collected by the owners. Everywhere you look is the art work of a home that reflects that someone lives here, not some sterile hotel room,
The recently renovated “American” kitchen has everything one could want to prepare a meal. With all the wonderful markets nearby, we know you’ll be tempted to try your hand at French cooking. But if you don't want to cook there are tons of restaurants nearby and within easy walking distance if the most you want to make is coffee. A breakfast bar and stools allows for easy dining for 2 people.
All brand new appliances welcome you, including an induction stove top, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and a small toaster/oven. Plentiful pots, pans, casseroles, spices and cooking utensils are available as well.
The windowed bathroom has everything you would expect and more. Two separate heaters (one electric near the shower, the other, working off the gas unit which heats the apartment, near the toilet) are available to insure you are toasty warm when you emerge from the recently renovated and enlarged tiled shower. With a choice of two shower heads and unlimited hot water, this is great way to unwind after a long day of touring.
With small hotel rooms in Paris around 200 euros and the strength of the euro compared to the dollar, this apartment is a marvelous value. We even offer pick up and drop off to both Paris airports for a reasonable additional charge.

We couldnt have found a more beautiful, relaxing apt as this one. Perfect in every respect. The quietness of the courtyard, comfort of the sleeping arrangements and helpfulness of amy really adds to the mix.
And if you like to cook a gas stove with fully equipped kitchen (my favorite part!) Read more

We found the apartment met all our needs,no Lift/stairs to negotiate, private garden for breakfast etc, blankets and my pet hate Doona/duvet ,more than adequate china/cooking utensils .,why anyone on a short stay in Paris would cook their own meals is beyond me,espresso machine.Short walk to Rue Moffetard (shops/supermarket etc),slightly longer to the Metro.Didnt need the air Conditioning unit.Would certainly stay in the apartment again rather than Hotel Read more

Homely and comfortable apartment in a great location
Left on 07/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012 | Family of 4, Australia
Our family, consisting of my husband and I, and our two adult children, stayed in this great little homely apartment for a week in May 2012. We were on a 3 month European holiday. We fondly called it the "shoebox" but found it to be roomier than we expected. As promised, the surrounding neighbourhood and Rue Mouffetard was wonderful and just far enough away from the very touristy areas to be relaxing after a big day of walking everywhere. Having the market so close meant we could have a lot of meals at home, but if we chose to go out, there was plenty of choice. There was a very nice spacious feel due to the garden setting. It made the small apartment feel a lot larger was this extra "living space." Everything functioned very well in the apartment, and the instructions were helpful. Amy was excellent to deal with when we made the forward booking, and her Paris manager Martine was warm, welcoming and informative when we arrived. This little place would not however suit all groups of 4 adults. It is ideal for a couple and maybe one other. As a family we are quite flexible with cramped holiday conditions, and whilst this didn't worry us at all as we spent so much time out and about, it would not suit others who would prefer another separate bedroom. But for us it was perfect, and I hope we can stay there again sometime in the next few years. Read more

Wonderful Stay in a Great apartment

My husband and I spent three nights (not long enough!) in the apartment in October 2010 and would definitely stay there again. The apartment is a great value for the money, as you get far more space and amenities than a typical hotel room. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, the bathroom very functional (lovely shower!), and the neighborhood safe and conveniently located. A short walk away, there are some great restaurants and a fabulous street market. The subway is also just a couple minutes' walk, which gave us immediate access to all of Paris. Amy, the owner, is great to deal with, and all transactions were pleasant and efficient. Look no further if you want a terrific value on a clean, safe, and charming Paris rental apartment! Read more
Thanks Katie for such a wonderful review. Its so gratifying to think that after such a long time, you would still take the time to tell others about how great our apartment is. It is very much appreciated and we hope to welcome you back to Paris for a longer stay sometime soon. Amy

Enjoyed fun week in Paris using the apartment as our base camp; much more comfy and affordable than staying in a hotel room. The apartment is well stocked, and anything you need is a couple of short blocks away on Mouffetard. Ground level, lots of light, wifi, and quiet neighborhood. Short stroll to metro, from which most of Paris is at most two transfers away. Frolic! Read more

Rather than wait for Pars in the spring time, we arrived to a winter city, -8oC with snow on the ground and the fountains frozen over. Although the pretty garden was not too useful in that weather, it was nice to look at and think about the sunshine. We were delighted and relieved to find that the flat was warm and cozy, with hot water round the clock and good water pressure in the shower to get the circulation going again. We did not even need the extra blankets. We enjoyed the coffee machine and the free WiFi and free international telephone service. Great wood floors and very comfortably furnished. Soft bed for those who like it that way. The apartment was close to great shopping, cafes and Paris night life. Most important was the obvious care and attention shown by both amy and her local representative. The numerous instructions and notes around the place and the seemingly instantaneous email replies were constant reminders that we were being looked after by a host who cares. The art work, the homeliness and the library reminded us that this is also her home. The place is warmly (literally) recommended.

We enjoyed a week's stay at this wonderful apartment in a central area of Paris. The apartment is even better than pictured. It is clean, bright, airy and well decorated. It's on a quiet street, a short walk from Rue Mouffetard, a street with great food shops which include cheese stores, wine stores, boulangeries and butchers as well as many restaurants. It has all the comforts of home. There are fantastic take out places nearby where we shopped and ate romantic candlelight dinners in the apartment on nights we did not want to go to a restaurant. The location is very convenient, a short walk from the Metro, as well as several buses a block or two away. We enjoyed our very own garden and ate breakfast in the morning, and wine and cheese in the afternoon under the fragrant lilac tree. Thank you amy and Oscar for creating such a homey place. We hope to return in the near future.

What a terrific apartment this is! Giving this place a great review is sort of like telling the neighbors about your great babysitter or where your favorite fishing spot is but I have to be honest - we ~loved~ it.
After just a few days we felt "at home” in the neighborhood - grocery shopping, wandering around the hardware stores, visiting the outdoor markets at rue Mouffetard, and (naturally) spending time in the local restaurants and cafés. The apartment itself is comfortable, stylish, and has the coolest dishwasher I've ever seen.
Many of the things Paris is famous for are within walking distance. We trekked to Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens and various other places. It's easy to get to the metro - about a 10 minute walk - which provides access to the rest of Paris.
But you don't have to go anywhere to have a great time here. There's the patio - private and away from everything and a fine spot to polish off a couple glasses of wine and some cheese and crackers. It's a nice little respite when you've been out all day.
As I look back on that trip, the things I remember most fondly are the apartment and a neighborhood antique show we stumbled on over the weekend. You don't get those memories staying in a hotel.

This is a wonderful little apartment. It is very close to shops and small eating places. The market is close by and it has a wonderful atmosphere.
The apartment itself is comfortable and the small patio is a great place to relax atfter a day of sightseeing. It is secure and has everything you could need. I would not hesitate to recommend this to friends and would certainly stay there again on another trip to Paris.

The apt with its patio was the best apt in the complex. Amy was so helpful. Over the course of months promptly answered all my emails and even provided information I didnt even know to ask. The location of the apt was perfect. We walked everywhere . Moufftard Market just a block away and we started our day and our daily plans there every morning at one of the cafes. The apt had everything you could ask for and more.
