'Marais-Picasso' was fully renovated by a leading Parisian architect in 2012. Works have been completed to the highest of standards to create what is very much a ‘luxury’ space at the top of the range in our portfolio. The kitchen is fitted with top of the range appliance and walnut work surfaces imported from the United States. Both the bathrooms and kitchen are decorated with tiles from Italy in elegant, natural tones.
'Marais Picasso' comprises 3-double bedrooms (2 King sizes/2 twins), 1 fully equipped bathroom with tub and stand-up shower, 1 Separate guest WC, 1 shower room with WC, drawing room/dining room (seats 6-8), fully- equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washer-drier etc.
The apartment faces South and is bright. It is on the 3rd floor of an elegant 19th Century Hausmannien building in the heart of the ‘Marais’. Entered via an attractive (recently renovated) vestibule which leads to an attractive, peaceful private garden. There is an elevator which is somewhat of a rarity in this historical neighbourhood.
The apartment's address is 5, rue Froissart, 75003. The Place des Vosges, Picasso Museum and many other galleries and museums are within walking distance. As for restaurants and shops, you are simply spoilt for choice. The closest metro stop is literally a block away, main bus routes pass nearby. That said, it’s central location means that the best way to get around is by foot.
The parquet floors are magnificent (throughout) and unique. There are fitted and elegant wooden cabinets in all rooms, all cupboards, drawers and units for hanging clothes have been custom-made for the apartment. The windows of the Marais apartment look onto no other apartment/building yet over the peaceful courtyard belonging to the apartment’s building. The sofa bed has been tailor-made for everyday use. That said, with 3 bedrooms, you are unlikely to need it.
Fully integrated air-conditioning units have been installed throughout the apartment. Again, recognising that this is somewhat of a rarity in Paris, we believe it is important for those months where your comfort may otherwise be compromised. The apartment is positioned as a high-end luxury product to sleep 6-8 people – very comfortably and the property has been furnished accordingly. Beds include 2 King-Size beds and one Queen which also separates into 2 singles.
My promise to my guests is that they will be as comfortable as in a good 4-star boutique Parisian hotel and for a fraction of the price. To this end, my business model is such that I can offer what I believe to be unbeatable rates for such a high standard of accommodation.
We own a handful of apartments in Paris. My company, Pad-A-Terre (business registerd in France) is unique in that I personally own all the apartments in our portfolio. Our directory 'Pad About Town' is accessed directly from our site and provides a wealth of information on restaurants, shopping, culture.
Pad-A-Terre has featured in a number of international journals over the past years, including, in the UK national press - The Independent ‘Traveller’ magazine. On the back of the high standard of accommodation that we offer, journalists from the same groups Sunday publication ‘The Independent on Sunday’, selected Pad-A-Terre as the definitive Parisian vacation rental choice: “Live like a local, the magic of moving in...” Both of these articles are available for viewing on our site. We in fact get frequent write-ups in a wide range of international publications. Others include - ‘The Boston Globe’, ‘International Living’ and and the US publication ‘Travel Agent Central.

The location of this apartment was perfect. We were only a 10 minute walk from the Louvre and Notre Dame, yet we were far enough away from the main tourist accommodation to feel like we were living like a local.
Everything within the apartment was good quality (particularly the beds and linen).
We had three mature couples staying in the apartment, and all three bedrooms were a good size and it ensured all three couples had a very comfortable stay.

My family enjoyed our best holiday in Paris at Marais Picasso. It was refreshing to escape the tourist bubble and enjoy the apartment and neighborhood. The apartment is quiet, cool (good a/C in Paris!!) and a great location. James paid attention to every detail of or our stay: metro directions, restaurant recommendations, easy transaction... We hope to return soon.

My partner and I had a really relaxing break staying with friends at this lovely light flat in the Marais. James, the owner, was really helpful in accommodating our preferred dates and arranging for check-in. We had stayed at another of James' properties near the Louvre a few years' ago when it was just the two of us but this was the first time we had rented this larger apartment. The flat was very clean and stylishly decorated, with a well-equipped kitchen and quality linens, and there was plenty of room for the 6 of us. There was also a lift which is quite rare in Paris apartment blocks which would be useful for older visitors or those manhandling pushchairs. All of us are frequent visitors to Paris so most of our time was spent being lazy and just soaking up the atmosphere in the local area which was packed with small restaurants and bars and unusual shops tucked away in sidestreets. The food market at Enfants Rouges is great for picking up fresh French produce. However, for those intending to "see" Paris, the Marais is within manageable walking distance of most of the main Paris sights and we were right by a metro station for our occasional trips across town. We just wish that we had been able to stay longer.
