This is a light and spacious one bedroom luxury apartment in the first arrondissement, the very center of Paris. Located on the 5th floor of a 1860 Haussmann building on a quiet, tree-lined avenue only steps from the banks of the Seine and minutes from Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, the Marais District or the Latin Quarter. The Chatelet metro station is a block away.
The Victoria apartment is very centrally located; almost in the exact geographic center of Paris. It is on a small side street one block from the Chatelet plaza with its beautiful fountain. The apartment is also one block from the quay along the Seine and adjacent to the transportation apex of the metro and bus network for Paris. There are many busses and the metro is just at the end of the block. From this location you can literally walk to the following destinations: - Ile de la Cite (the original site of Paris) and Place Dauphine - Notre Dame Cathedral and La Chapelle - The Louvre - The historic 17 Century Maris district and the Pompidou center - The Ile Saint Louis - The Place Saint Michel on the Left bank and the Latin Quarter and the Sorbonne - The Saint Germain des Pres district
The main metro line at Chatelet is line 1 and it runs directly to the Champs Elysees, Arch de Triumph, the Place de la Concorde, and the les Tuileries in one direction and the Place de la Bastille and the eastern side of the Marais district in the other direction. There is also a taxi stand just at the end of the block at the fountain/plaza.
Originally a typical Beaux Arts style apartment, the recent renovation and contemporary furnishings have added a modern twist to the elegant decor. Through two doors equipped with electronic card readers, you enter into the renovated historic hallway with access to the elevator; a short set of steps leads from the elevator to the apartment.
The large and impressive living room has high ceilings and two tall double-glazed windows (with black-out curtains) giving attractive wide views of the sky and street below. The classic feel of the original marble fireplace and over-mantle mirror is contrasted with the modern - and very comfortable - queen size sofa bed.
The bedroom is pleasant and light, also with two tall windows and black-out curtains. It has its own original polished marble fireplace and a very generous amount of built in wardrobe space. There is a separate flat screen television. The bed is queen size with a deep but firm mattress. Bed linens and towels are of the finest quality and there is an iPod player on the mantleplace.
The dining room features large windows as well and is contiguous with the kitchen but can be completely separated by an ingenious system of 'pocket doors' which slide away completely when not needed. The elegant Gustavian dining room table will seat four.
In the Swedish style kitchen there is a catalytic oven, vitroceramic stove with four hot plates, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and a very effective exhaust hood. All cooking utensils and other small appliances are top quality.
The large bathroom has a full size shower, basin, designer toilet and bidet, as well as a mirrored cabinet with power outlet. (A hairdryer and bathroom radio are provided.) A washer and separate dryer are located in a built-in cupboard (instructions are in English).
The apartment is equipped with fax and answering machine and two Ethernet DSL internet connection outlets and Wi-Fi.
Two LCD televisions plus cable decoders with 150 channels including CNN and BBC, a DVD player and a separate CD and radio sound systems complete the entertainment lineup.
In the hall closet, as well as space for baggage storage, there is a cyclonic HEPA vacuum cleaner, steam iron and ironing board plus a personal safe. The apartment has smoke alarms and a fire extinguisher.
SPECIAL NOTE: The elevator access is to alternate floors. There are ten steps to walk up from the elevator landing to the apartment if you press #4 or you can walk down if you press #6.

This was our first try at a rental in Europe so we were unsure about all the requirements especially about sending our money so early and to unknown persons. But...i must tell you that there was not one thing I could suggest to the agency to improve their service. Everything was perfect from our first inquiry to final check out. They were always their to help and kept us informed every step of the way. Wonderful personal touch. With regard to the apartment, the pictures and description were exactly as advertized. The kitchen and dinning area were great. The bath was new and modern with washer and dryer. The bedroom was complete with a great bed and black out curtains. You can not go wrong here. Plenty of restaurants in the area as well as a bakery just around the corner. Also had two supermarkets within walking distance of the apartment. Very central and safe. Since you are in Paris, you must be on the lookout for pickpockets. Just simply be aware of your personal space and you will have no problem. But this whole experience was such a joy for us, I can offer no negative and we would make no changes. Oh, and be sure to ask about Jean Marie who was our driver to and from CDG. You will be happy you booked his service! He is a real gem.

I was a skeptic about renting an apartment but decided to try it. After searching for an apartment for a number of days with my wife, we finally chose Victoria. It looked nice and clean and in a location we thought we wanted. We contacted the management company and they were very nice and helpful in explaining the rental procedure and providing information about the apartment and area. I must say, being the skeptic that I am, I was a little nervous about paying in advance and not seeing the apartment in person. They did their best to make me feel secure.
Well I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The apartment looked just like the pictures and was very clean. It was equipped with everything you would need for a short or long stay. The kitchen had all the amenities of home. There was ample closet space in the bedroom and the bed linens were comfortable. The management staff met us at the apartment on time and was also available to answer any questions we had while we were there.
As my wife said "they seemed to think of everything we might need" even leaving us a booklet with info and tips on getting around in Paris and a CD player with Cd's in both French and English.
Location was great !!! Our travel friends had also rented an apartment and they were not as lucky. They spent most of the week coming to us because they loved our apartment and location.
“Paris apartment with everything you could ever want!”

My husband and I stayed for two weeks in this lovely Paris apartment. The location was fantastic - close to metro and walking distance to many sites. The apartment looks even better than the pictures show and has everything you could ever want or need. Lots of towels, extra pillows, washer and dryer, English language TV, free phone calls to us, comfortable bed, designer kitchen and bath - really, we could just live there. Perfect and beyond all expectations!

This is an exceptional apartment -- airy, sunny, beautifully maintained, nicely appointed, and with ample space for three or four people, counting the fold-out sofa in the living room (we were a couple with my 15-year-old niece in tow). The bathroom is large and modern with strong water pressure and lots of shelves; the kitchen is large and fully decked out with working appliances of every kind, lots of counter space, and a comfortable and roomy area for dining; and the bedroom, though compact, has a good bed and lots of closet space and shelves, replete with dozens of hangers. There are guidebooks and maps, and a well-written and comprehensive instruction book -- in fact, everything we needed for our stay. The icing on the cake is its location -- perfectly situated within walking distance to the Louvre, Pompidou Center, Notre Dame/Isle de Cite, the Marais, and the St Michele area of the Left Bank. As it happens, there's also a multi-line metro station a 1/2 block away for folks who prefer transit, just beyond the exceptional boulangerie where we bought our morning bread, pastries and yogurt, and later grabbed our sandwiches for each day's outing. And finally, the price: I looked at a lot of apartments online that could sleep three comfortably and were well-located. This one was far and away the least expensive. I figured there was a catch, which we would discover on arrival, but there's no catch -- it is simply a wonderful place to stay in Paris. As for the service, both the american-based manager and local greeters were always easy to communicate with, responsive to every question, and very helpful when we needed advice. Grab it while you can.

This beautiful and spacious apartment is located a short block from the Seine near Pont Neuf. The apartment is convenient to the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Left Bank. There are multiple Metro entrances within a block and the apartment is surrounded by many cafes and shops.
This was my first visit to Paris and I am so glad we choose this apartment instead of a hotel. The convenience of having a washer and dryer allowed me to take less luggage. And there was amble storage for the luggage I took.
The bathroom is huge and the shower is full-sized. The appointments are lovely and comfortable.
I would definitely stay here again.
