Additional Location Information
The elegant 7th is rich with art and culture, as well as the upper crust of society, with its dignified hotels particuliers housing ministries, embassies and luxurious private residences.
Stately, subdued and refined, the 7th seduces with Napoleonic sophistication, and its iconic Eiffel Tower provides the reference point for all of Paris. Military and history buffs, the tomb of Napolean, the little man with big ideas, in the Invalides, is a must. Rue de Grenelle is dotted with shops full of quintessentially French toddler fashion, as well as the Musee Maillol, whose permanent collection contains Degas and Cezanne.
Visiting Rodin's museum nearby, its garden and sculptures will make this moment unforgettable. St Germain, located around the oldest church in Paris, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, was once the epitome of Left-Bank intellectual chic. Today it is more luxury than literary and full of high-end interior design stores and fashion boutiques. There are also many cinemas, bookshops and art galleries.
Some of the city’s finest restaurants and brasseries are in St Germain.
Wander around the cafés, flower markets and shops at the Carrefour de Buci, have a coffee at the Deux Magots, walk along the historic Cour du Commerce St-André, a fascinating cobbled passageway where you will find the oldest café in Paris, Le Procope. We really enjoyed our stay at this convenient location. The apartment is in an old Parisian building, very well maintained, clean, and quiet. It is located very near Musee d'Orsay and walking distance to two metro stops. We did a lot of walking and could easily get to all the tourist spots but got to stay among locals at the same time. Eugenio was very accommodating and responded promptly when we had questions or requests. Overall a great experience and made our visit very memorable! Its the perfect way to feel what it is like to live as a Parisian! We were able to buy fresh produce at the open market and made salads on occasion. The kitchen is small but functional with everything one needs including an espresso machine! We stayed a full week and enjoyed it until the last moment! Bed is very comfy as well. Truly a gem and would not disappoint! Highly recommended!
