Retreat from the noise and pollution of the tourist areas, but stay in walking distance of the centre in an oasis of calm and light! Easy Parking for those with a car. Great public transport. Full of art and comfort.
This has been my home for ten years, I am British, and an artist working and living in Paris. I travel a lot and am renting my home, which I have divided in to two apartments. This is for the upstairs floor, (the downstairs is listed seperately), which is the original painting studio with a huge living space, difficult to capture the volume on photos. It's very comfortable with all ameneties and also has a lovely sunny roof terrace for sun bathing, or eating outside in the warm summer days and nights. Either I manage the loft rentals, or a neighbour, we both speak fluent English, French and Polish, and I do speak some Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. It does mean we can help you with getting around and getting to know local things and about Paris, if necessary. I am renting because I travel a lot now, my daughter lives abroad, and it gives me a chance to share this amazing space. If you are a large group, contact me to rent both floors to make a huge 6 bedroom house and garden.
The location is great, Notre Dame , the centre of paris on the subway 3 stops, the Exhibition Centre 10-15 mins drive (Porte de Versailles), or 20 mins on the new Tram. The Subway line here goes straight to the Eiffel Tower, about 20 mins and the Impressionist museum, and really all is at hand, the RERC line really takes you to all the possible tourist destinations with a short walk except for Monmartre, but you are quietly tucked away away from the hoards of tourists and noise. It's a short train (20mins) taxi or Uber car ride from Orly airport, or town, and if there are 4 of you a taxi or UBER car which I prefer, costs little more than the metro.
Recently installed ceiling fans keep the air moving on the rare hot hot days of the summer, and also there is one in the master bedroom. There are also three independent ice based air cooling units, should they be necessary. Mostly Paris is not that warm, but there is the odd really hot week, so you do have electric shutters and air cooling units to help with that.
The general rate is 400 dollars per weekday night and 450 for weekend nights, 2800 for a week, this is regardless of numbers, but if the numbers are very high, or only two nights, there might be a laundry surcharge. I do not generally want to accomodate more than 6 adults, and three children, though it might be possible to squeeze in more, I think really it becomes somewhat unpleasant with too many people.
It could also be possible to rent BOTH floors for large reunions, where one could sleep 15 or more, with six bedrooms, but contact me about this please. I don't have a listing for both floors.
I can arrange at extra cost a daily or when you want cleaner at 15 euros per hour, and an UBER driver to collect take or collect you in the evenings.
Othewise cleaning will be up to you, and a cleaning fee deducted from deposit if not left as you found it.
Although this space is great for groups, I prefer not to have 'rowdy' groups, because part of the beauty of this space is the quiet and calm, and the neighbours work in these spaces and all know each other, so normal level conversation/music/tv etc is fine, but no loud noises after 10pm please. I have had some clients throwing parties, and that's just not fair with noise all night. If you wish to do this, I would like to know and the tarif is different, especially if you are inviting a lot of people. It's not impossible, but to be agreed and negotiated.
The master bedroom 40m2 has an en suite bathroom with bathtub, and overlooks a garden. It is lovely and light, and open plan. It's probably the size of most parisian apartments! One additional double bedroom (with single galleried loft bed in addition), one with a single/convertible double with an extra mezzanine double bed, are on either side of a vast, open plan living/dining area with fully equipped kitchen. There is an additional shower room and WC. There is a laundry area with washer/dryer for your use.
Featuring 20 foot high ceilings, fireplace and is surrounded by windows, skylights, art, books, and eclectic design furniture etc. There is a terrace for warm weather, meals al fresco and sunbathing. Private entrance. Located in Ivry-Sur-Seine/near Paris 13th arrondissement, central Paris (St. Michel /Notre Dame, Louvre, Chatelet) is three stops or 10 minutes ride on the RER C line; a stop further is the Quai d'Orsay, followed by the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. Shopping is extremely convenient, with a huge Carrefour supermarket approx. 100 meters away and a shopping mall. Three days a week (T,W,F) you can buy fresh produce and a variety of goods at a lively open air market in front of Ivry's historic City Hall. There are bakeries and restaurants in the vicinity, including the well-regarded Km3, featuring seasonal, gourmet, creative French cuisine. One block away there are indoor tennis and squash courts, and the river is two blocks, with walks to Paris. For weekend al fresco restaurants and shops there is Bercy Village, a converted railway yard, with a very outdoor , buzzy and continental feel, with more gourmet food. The zoo, Natural History museum is just a walk or two stops away. A short walk or bike ride takes you across the Seine to the Bois de Vincennes. There is a Velib station (bike rentals) close by and cycle paths to St Germain. Just down the street the Le Luxy theatre offers a selection of French, independent and international films, as does the MK2 Bibliothèque Nationale (BNF) cinemaplex (20 min. walk or 1 stop on RER-C). The Pathe imax cinema and 20 screens is a 5 min walk, but shows film mostly in French. The Paris 7/Diderot and the École Nationale Supérieure d'architecture de Paris campuses are about 4-5 blocks away.
In recent years, this area has experienced something of a revival and is now home to artists, writers, and musicians living and working in its reconstructed factory buildings. This post-industrial area has the highest concentration of artists in France.

Massive Artist Loft, light, terrace, Paris 3B 2b Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Region), France
Additional Location Information
This is a post industrial neighbourhood, which has now become trendy and 'bobo' bohemian bourgeouis. Most of the old factories have been converted to fabulous artist's lofts, and this group of buildings also has a garden which the master bedroom overlooks, The area has been planted with many trees, and there are several parks, from next door, to a young children's play area across the road, to a older children's play area across the foot bridge, to the Bois de Vincennes which is over 2000 acres. You can run along the river, in the parks, or rent cycles at the end of the street. There are ethnic restaurants, gourmet restaurant and massive shopping mall all within 100 yards or so. Fresh bread and croissants, just a few doors away, and buses and trains into Bercy, or Notre Dame, just round the corner or a few hundred yards away. This is a calm, a little away from the tourist hub, but with easy access in minutes. The activities that can't be missed
1. Doing absolutely nothing. Seriously, this is the best city to walk aimlessly for hours, watch back-to-back movies at the theaters, and read BOOKS IN the parks. The less you do the better sometimes. Every neighborhood has its own distinct personality.
2. Great art museums: The Louvre is exhausting but comprehensive, Centre de Pompidou is overall great and has an awesome video art library, and Palais de Tokyo has some great modern art exhibitions.
3. Paris' jazz clubs.
