This pied-a-terre constructed in 1870 offers original ornate moldings and rosettes, marble fireplaces, as well as the original oak and maple herringbone parquet laid in only ten percent of the homes of the late 19th century. It is 940 ft2 of pleasure (about 88 m2). The motifs in the moldings are of birds, musical instruments, and the sea. There are also 19th century chandeliers and appliqués, and sterling from the same period finishes the ensemble. The house is protected by the historical society in Paris.
Your location is A-1, especially if you are looking for a nice change from the tourist-ridden left bank. This flat is located where the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th arrondissements intersect. The Louvre, Centre Georges Pompidou, rue de Rivoli and the Marais are all within five or less minutes walking distance. At your doorstep and in your neighborhood are St. Eustace and rue Montorgueil which is a center of pedestrian streets lined with 18th century homes, gourmet and fashion boutiques leading to the Place des Victoires, the last of Paris’s former outdoor market at Les Halles. This is a hip center of young, traditional Parisians as well as the good neighborhood stock.
The architecture of the flat contrasts to the 20th century art and museum pieces. The cherry wood furniture is handmade from the owner’s designs. The numerous serving pieces and dishes are hand-painted Italian majolica from Solimene. There is Baccarat crystal, designer cutlery, designer’s guild soft furnishings for your enjoyment and pleasure. If you are looking for romance in the city of love, you will feel comfortable in the marble bath with a tub for two. From the bathroom a fireplace in the bedroom burns that warms the room with romantic flames.
One block away is a local “Monoprix”, a good size department store with a large supermarket that also offers a broad selection of French wine which you can store to a proper temperature in your own “cave á vin” in the flat. It also has a fresh bakery. All of Monoprix’s prices are more than reasonable; they are everyday French prices. You won’t find this on the left bank.
Enjoy the superlatives for your sojourn in Paris. Electronic fresh espresso or cappuccino or latte machine with fresh beans, German appliances throughout, double paned windows with electronic aluminum shades for complete and utter darkness and silence. There is a large safe available for valuables.
It goes without saying that you may call North America and throughout Europe at no cost as well as enjoy many a selection English and American television channels.

Sleeping arrangements: This is a large two bedroom flat, with a queen size 4 poster bed for 2 adults in the main bedroom and there is also a large sofa in the living room which can be prepared as a bed for one adult, not a pull-out type bed, rather the bedding is provided you to make it up each day. The second bedroom has a large comfortable futon.
Dining - Food preparations: There is a large separate dining room that seats up to 6 people comfortably. The kitchen is separate and is large and complete with everything you need to prepare “serious meals” or just light snacks. See Amenities list for more details.
Bathroom: There is a large oval bathtub which has a hand held nozzle as well (not shower type, not affixed to wall). The WC is separate for convenience.
Building, Neighborhood: As per most of the older buildings in this area, there is no lift, stairs only. It is on the 3rd European floor (4th US) with wide stairs that are carpeted. The building is well maintained and has good security. Your closest metro is Etienne Marcel on line 4.

My wife and I spent 11 nights in this very comfortable, completely equipped and well situated apartment. We're both creative professionals in Los angeles and appreciated the owner's ecclectic tastes, mixing decor from around the world, old and new - From the modern kitchen and bathroom with washer/dryer - to the antique flooring and furniture pieces, we were loving everything about this place and felt so at home right from the start. Easy access to the metro and a short walk to many grocery stores, pharmacies and pretty much anything you could need or want -
great view from the many windows facing blvd sebastopol.
This apartment worked out so well for us that we'd like to stay there again !
