As you can see from the photos, it is a very open space with lots of windows plus skylights and sits on the ground floor. It is located in the courtyard of a building in which one needs to pass through the street side building security door to enter courtyard and then to its own private entrance. It is very quiet and lovingly decorated by the artist owner who is a professional decorator.
This Parisian duplex apartment, with the bedroom upstairs, has 49 m2 (about 530 ft2) floor space that includes the mezzanine. It feels much larger due to the high ceilings and openness of the place and the outside wrap around garden. The circular stairs leading up to the bedroom are very sturdy and wide enough to go up with luggage. While there is not a handrail, one can use the wall for better balance going up or down the stairs. The bed is double size bed for two adults. Please note that there are some height restrictions for the ceiling when upstairs. The ceiling is about 5˝ ft high at the head of the bed and slopes to about 4˝ feet at the foot. There is an open rail barrier for this mezzanine space that opens to the living room below. In the living room you will find a double sofa bed to sleep 2 more guests. The owner has provided a roll out type floor mattress, which is ideal for a child and can be set up in living room or in the kitchen area. This provides for sleeping up to two adults and one child. The bathroom with a WC, shower, sink, and mirror is located at the foot of the stairs on lower level. A clothes washer is provided.
This is simply a wonderful area of Paris, just a few minutes walk outside your door are many cafes, bakeries, large restaurants, shops, etc. The transport is also very nearby, just a one minute walk to metro station Edgar Quinet (line 6) or a bit further to metro Vavin, line 4 that will take you to St. Michel, St. Germain, Chatelet, etc. You can easily stroll to Luxembourg Gardens just 10-12 minutes away! This is also the theater district of Paris if anybody would like to catch comedy or plays in action. Plus there are over two dozen movie houses nearby, many of them play with original sound track in English.
This lovely apartment is very comfortable, but has a couple of areas we wish to highlight. The outside garden area is not maintained by our management team, the owner does this, and can seem just a bit 'unkempt' at times. The parquet floor inside does have some discolorations. The building maintenance company is responsible to clean all the windows from the outside, including skylights.
This lovely home will certainly be something to talk about or even boast about when you return back home. Most all furniture and furnishings are handcrafted artistic notables, with so much color and warmth, arranged in a fantastic space. Don’t forget Paris is outside your door and don’t dilly-dally inside too long! It sure is tempting to do so!
Additional amenities include: iron/board, wood floors, high ceilings along with skylights, 49 m2 (about 530 ft2) - ground floor - no stairs to entry but some stairs inside the apartment, wc, clothes washer - hang dry, very private with gated entrance to gardens, extra cleaning service available for additional fee (the apartment is clean on arrival), free high speed internet access, wi-fi or ethernet, sink, free calls to north america, non-smoking apartment!, coffee maker, four burner gas stove, cable TV with some english language stations, original handcrafted and sometimes delicate furnishings, double bed in mezzanine, shower, double sofa bed in living room, extra large living room, open kitchen & mezzanine, linens & towels, all dishes, cutlery & glasses, quiet apartment, large windows that can be closed off for complete privacy with shutters, roll out futon mattress for a child on the floor, dining table for 4 people....Read more

Our only regret about our stay here is that we didn't have more time to spend just relaxing in this wonderful cottage. The spiral staircase and the loft, the beautiful decor, the privacy, and the abundance of sunlight create a wonderful--and unique!--atmosphere in which to experience Paris. We were there in October, and the small private garden was gorgeous. This is the second time we have rented through Vacation in Paris, and each time the process was trouble-free, the price was very reasonable, and the apartments were stunning. Be prepared, though, if you stay in this cottage: your friends will bypass your photos of the Eiffel Tower in favor of pictures of the cottage, and will confine the bulk of their questions to how you managed to find such a place. : )

My husband and I rented this cottage on rue Delambre for 2 weeks in March. We could not have chosen a better location. The cottage is within walking distance of 4 metro stations, including the Gare Montparnasse which we used to visit Versailles and Chartres. There are 2 markets on the street and 2 boulangeries. A Monoprix supermarket had everything we needed to cook meals. There are so many places to eat within 4 blocks that we never ran out of options.
The cottage was very comfortable, private, and quiet. It is located in the backyard of an apartment building. The cottage was spacious, we liked the decor, and relied on the internet service which never failed. There was plenty of hot water and heat. The temperature never left the 40s while we were there but we were warm inside. There is a spiral staircase in the corner of the living room to access the sleeping loft. The staircase is small and you cannot stand up straight to walk around the bed but it was comfortable. The bathroom is functional for one person but you won't be able to bend over if you drop something in the shower.
We would gladly rent this cottage again. It was a great place to relax after spending the day on our feet. We were able to save money by walking to many sites and cook some of our own meals. It was a great vacation because of this cottage.
