A secluded, romantic get-away high in the Santa Fe National Forest, on the banks of the Pecos River, but just 30 minutes from fabulous Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pecos River Cabin is a 100-year-old, fully restored hand-sawn log cabin on nearly two pristine wooded acres, with 360 feet of river frontage. Watch the stars and listen to the river through the huge skylight over the queen size bed in the upstairs bedroom; downstairs, the pull-out couch with inner-spring mattress is comfy and full size for kids or friends. Additional Location Information

Pecos River Cabin is located in the Pecos Canyon, high up in the Santa Fe National Forest. The cabin sits at nearly 7,800 feet, which makes for an ideal summer climate with daytime temperatures averaging 85 degrees, and mild spriing and fall weather with warm days and crisp, cool, starry nights. Winters are magical, and many of our guests have enjoyed very special times here over the winter holidays.

The cabin is right on the Pecos River, with 360 feet of private fishing rights. Surrounded by the magnificent Pecos Wilderness, the cabin serves as a perfect home base for exploring the extensive hiking trails for every level of fitness. Don't miss the Battle of Glorieta monument, an easy walking trail with informational markers describing the epic Civil War battle for control of New Mexico. The Village of Pecos is an easy 25 highway miles to Santa Fe, known for its wide variety of restaurants, museums and galleries. No trip to the cabin is complete without a day in Santa Fe, "The City Different"!

The Pecos Wilderness offers countless opportunities for hiking, from the leisurely stroll through the forest to the most strenuous treks up into the mountains. Fishing is robust not only from our own riverfront but at many public spots all along the Pecos. There is also a lake nearby for bait fishing.

In winter, the Santa Fe ski area high in the Sangre de Cristo mountains (one of the highest ski areas in the continental United States!) beckons beginners and advanced skiers and boarders alike, and the legendary slopes of Taos are an easy two-hour drive away.

For day or overnight trips, check out the legendary Ojo Caliente hot springs and Ghost Ranch, home of Georgia O'Keefe where she found inspiration for her magnificent landscape paintings.

You'll never be bored at Pecos River Cabin!
