Description
A delightful country cottage set in a serene woodland setting, within a private 70 acre estate, with fabulous walks & wildlife on the doorstep. "Little Abergwynant" is set in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, with magnificent views of the Cader Idris mountain range from shared gardens within the estate.
There are ample walking opportunities amongst scenic forestry in the local area and along the nearby stunning Cambrian coastline. Of particular note is the easy walking access to the glorious Mawddach estuary which features the renowned Mawddach Trail loved by walkers & cyclists alike.
The cottage is well equipped, stylish and comfortable, with all you need for a fabulous memorable stay, and caters for up to 4 guests in 1 luxury king suite with full en suite bathroom including shower, and 1 spacious twin bedroom with en suite shower room.
Little Abergwynant has a cosy traditional lounge and dining room, complete with log burning stove (and supply of logs), along with a light and airy kitchen which leads on to the private courtyard garden, a lovely tranquil hideaway allowing for outdoor relaxation and great Al Fresco dining.
Guests also have access to large and varied shared walled gardens en route to the river leading to the estuary trail.
The nearby pretty market town of Dolgellau, is well served with a range of shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The cottage has private parking for 2 cars.
Little Abergwynant is a self contained wing of Abergwynant Hall - the cottage is the left side of the main photograph (lower right window behind bird table is not part of the cottage). The estate is served by a private water supply from a borehole on the estate, providing exclusive Welsh water on tap.

“Idyllic accommodation”

“Same time next year !”
Many thanks to Sandrra, Allison and Rob for a lovely Easter break. With only 4 days in which to Explore this part of Snowdonia we appreciated the quick chat with Rob and orientation on our arrival. We then had a terrrific time on the estuary trails, the beaches of Fairborne, Barmouth and Aberdovey - plus a trip further north to Zip world in Blaneau Ffestiniog. Not forgetting the castle at Harlech which was in easy reach too. Penmaenpool has a great selection of eateries from Traditional wholesome Welsh fayre to excellent Tapas. At the end of each day, returning to the comforts of the wood burner and a glass of wine in the well appointed cottage whilst the boys explored the 70 acre “garden” meant each day was full to the max - and we have the perfect excuse to return same time next year as we haven’t even seen Cader Idris yet ! We had a 5 star break - thank you ! Amanda, Gary & boys
